Plug the adapter into the wall outlet or power strip. If using a power strip, make sure the strip is on. Most laptop power adapters have a small LED light; the light will illuminate when power is being transferred from the outlet to the adapter. If the light illuminates, chances are you have sufficient power to supply your laptop. Wiggle the power cord if the LED light did not initially illuminate. If the light turns on and off when you wiggle it, you might have a loose cord in the adapter, or the outlet could be faulty. Plug the adapter into another power outlet, preferably a different circuit in another room, if the LED light did not illuminate the first time. If it lights up from the second outlet, the first outlet either does not work or other devices were using too much power on the initial circuit. Connect the other end of the adapter to the laptop and turn the laptop on. When the computer starts up, you should see an indication of how the laptop is being powered in the lower right-hand corner. If you see a battery icon, then the laptop is being powered by the battery, not the adapter. Make sure both ends of the adapter are securely connected. If they are, and if the LED light on the adapter is lit, then you likely have a faulty wire that is not properly connecting to your computer. If you see a plug or adapter icon, then the laptop is successfully being powered by the adapter. If the LED light on the adapter is not lit, then the bulb is out, but the adapter is still working.

Toshiba wont power on

Remove the main battery and try again, if no change! sub out the ram memory one at a time and power on each time. If still no result! the onlything left is the motherboard with major issues.

Hi I have a Toshiba laptop model no.psl2xu-ookoof and it doesn't charge anymore so what do I do

If the laptop works only off the Power Cord and the battery is not charging, then the battery is dead.

To check to make sure the Power Cord is working remove the battery and let the latop run for 10 minutes or so.

To check to see if the battery has any charge left in it put the battery in and remove the power cord. If it won't boot or shuts down then the battery is dead and needs to be replaced if the power cord is ok.

My computer won't turn on or charge.

You need to diagnose the problem.
>First try to take the battery out of the computer and just use the charger to make computer run.
>If it turns on it means that the battery is what's causing the problem.
>But, if computer cannot run using the charger/AC Adapter then it means that we have a problem with the charger.
By doing this diagnostics you know which part to replace.

My laptop won't charge

What do u mean by "adjust the cord" ? If u have to adjust by twisting the jack in the power input port then it is neither the fault of the cord nor the of the battery but may be the fault of the power input port.
Go to Toshiba service center and they will solv the prob.

Toshiba a205 I let the battery go dead now all it will do is flash the blue light with the cord symbol what's that mean?

It means that there is not enough battery to supply the voltage the laptop needs to start. Simply let it charge overnight and it should be fine in the morning assuming the charger is working properly.

My toshebia satellite M45-S359 scren only displays the toshiba

Thanks for that.

Ok the onlything that springs to mind is:

1. The bios needs to be reset asit has lost settings. This could happen IF you have installedsomething OR if it has become corrupt. Just access your Biosand reload the standard default settings.

2. Your hard drivehas a fault. The best thing you can do is to boot up from youremergency floppy (if you made one) or from your original windows CD. Once done, simply run scandisk/chkdisk/defrag and let it do what itneeds.

Sorry I could not help you more, but that is the onlything I can think of that would be stopping you booting further. Personally it sounds like the bios has lost settings and may betrying to boot from another drive ... but of cause it may be thatyour hard drive has become "sticky" or has errors that arecausing the problems.

Good luck with it.
