Question about Samsung Televison & Video
Intermittant fault. Sometimes TV will not respond to any command on remote control. It's not the batteries and I have two hand controllers and the problem affects both at the same time so the problem is with the TV
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

SOURCE: tv remote control
There is most likely dirt below membrane preventing contact. Remove batteries, open it up, wash rubber membrane in warm water with dish washing detergent, dry it completely. Also, use some alcohol and cotton sticks to clean contact on the remote control board.

Resetting the TV
If the buttons on the remote AND the buttons on the TV case do not work (channels do not change and you cannot open or navigate the menu), the TV has stopped responding. Reset the TV as follows:
Some TVs have a reset button. If available and accessible, try using the reset buttons before using the steps below. Using the reset buttons can save time.
1. Unplug the TV power cord from the power outlet.
2. Unplug any connected devices (DVD, Set-top boxes, etc...)
3. Press and hold the TV power button for five seconds.
4. Plug the TV power cord back into the power outlet and turn on the TV.
5. Open the on-screen menu to confirm that the TV is responding again.
6. Turn off the TV and reconnect the devices.
7. Turn on the TV.
hope this may help;

Try resetting it.
Remove the batteries and hold down the POWER button on it for 30 secs. Then replace the batteries with fresh ones.

You cannot reprogram the samsung remotes. I just installed three samsung tv's on the same wall. I used a harmony 900 remote. It has a rf receiver with an IR blaster two IR emitters. You can designate each emitter to a specific device in the remote. I used the main remote IR for the main tv, The blaster for the a/v receiver,blue ray, ect. Then I used each of the emitters for a tv. I can control each of the tv's independently with no interference.
