No, it is a sealed system and must be replaced by a certified service person.

The EPA recommends keeping refrigerators at 37? F and freezers at 3? F, so your freezer temperature is obviously too high. How was it determined that the compressor was the problem rather than some related parts?

When you say, "Replaced compressor...", do you mean you did the work or had a tech do the job? Were any related parts checked/replaced, e.g., start relay?

Some repairs can be made by someone with basic electrical/mechanical skills, e.g., replacing a defrost timer or ADC.
But a refrigerator compressor should be installed by a trained and licensed appliance repair technician. This is NOT a do-it-yourself project.

A compressor replacement and charging requires specialized tools and some expert knowledge. Perhaps you have the appropriate tools, gauges and knowledge.

If a bad compressor was the original problem, and you replaced it with a new compressor (there is a chance you might have purchased a defective unit), and you have checked the related electrical parts, you may not have the correct amount or the correct refrigerant in the system. If you had a leak, the unpleasant smell might be a tell-tell sign. Check: Refrigerator Parts Compressor System Testing

Analysis and how to Fix the Generic problem for all Refrigerators

dea8198.jpgif symptoms of damage such as: fridge not cold, no noise from the compressor, how to analysis and improvement:

1. Check the incoming voltage to the compressor, make sure there is voltage coming into the compressor, a simple way to hold the engine compressor. if there are hot that means the voltage has been entered. the part that does not work is the compressor. you should replace it and fill freon. you must have special equipment to be replaced, such as welding equipment, analyzer to check freon pressure and pressure compressor. and many more tools that should be necessary.
2. Thermostat how to replace it: simply replace the existing thermostat in the freezer space, there is a screw that must be opened, open by pulling the cover and then remove from the holder thermostat. replaced in accordance with the size and spec. there are only two wires are connected there, no matter if inverted in installing.
3. Timer: Timer can be damaged, causing the compressor does not work, the indication: there is no noise from the compressor. timer location near the compressor (in box) or in room fridge, usually near the refrigerator light. first try to turn the timer until the refrigerator running. if it still does not work just replace the timer.

4. check the thermal fuse and the thermo bimetal (thermo switch) and the heater as a function of defrost in the refrigerator. these parts connected to the function of "timer", if one is not functioning will cause the refrigerator does not work normally even the refrigerator is not cold.

LG Refrigerator GR2211GDC. Compressor was

Whoever replaced the compressor obviously left a leaking solder joint. That needs to be fixed, after which the unit needs to be recharged.

Refrigerator is not cooling. Compressor comes on than off after 20-30 seconds

you need to replace the ptc overload relay replaced on the compressor as this component is getting weak and is cutting out,it uses temperature vs. heat to protect the compressor from a no start or when the compressor cant operate on the run windings and overheats, then this ptc overload relay cuts out the compressor to protect it,it will keep trying to start the compressor till the ptc burns out,it just unplugs off the compressor and a new replacement plugs back in

How do I install compressor for amana refrigerator. Can a home handy man install a compressor? Do I need freon?

Hi.The compressor motor is connected to the refrigerant system, which is not user serviceable. It will be necessary to have the compressor serviced, or replaced by a qualified technician. During this process, the pressurized system will need to be re pressurized. This will require special tools, and regulative equipment, as well. This can be very dangerous, and that is why I prefer to give proper advise on this type of repair. Kindly, contact your nearest service tech.

Frig requires either compressor relay or the compressor itself...should have some warranty still, so call an authorized servicer. Ray
