Flashing a motherboard's BIOS can have many positive purposes and can help keep a motherboard compatible with changing technology. PCnineoneone.com says that a proper BIOS flash can introduce enhanced features and bug fixes for the motherboard. However, a bad BIOS flash can be devastating to a computer owner and very difficult to recover from. If the proper preparations are made and all instructions are followed, a bad BIOS flash can be corrected.
Remove the side panel of the computer case, using the screwdriver to unfasten the screws normally located in the back. Remove the jumper from its normal position on the motherboard and place it in the recovery position. Usually, the jumper will need to be moved over one space to cover a previously exposed prong. Locate the BIOS CMOS jumper on the motherboard, usually in the bottom, right corner. The jumper consists of three metal pins facing upward and is usually marked with "CLR_CMOS" and has a plastic cap over two of the pins. Check your specific motherboard manual if you are unsure where the jumper is. If the motherboard does not have a jumper, removing the battery for 30 seconds and then replacing it may have the same effect. Insert the BIOS flash disk and power on the computer. If you used a flash tool or utility and did not create a BIOS flash disk before flashing the BIOS, then you will need to do so using a functioning computer. Since there will be no video, listen for the internal PC speaker to beep. This means it is performing the BIOS upgrade. Power down the computer once the BIOS upgrade has been completed. This process may take some time to complete, so be sure to not turn the computer off before the BIOS upgrade is finished. Without video, the only way to be sure is to listen to the PC speaker. When the upgrade is done, the PC speaker will beep again, and the floppy disk drive will turn off. Replace the jumper back in its normal position and put the side panel of the computer back on. Power the computer on. If the computer turns on as normal, the recovery was a success. Hope this helps

I have hp pavillion DV6-6c35dx black screen with caps lock blinking twice to indicate corrupted bios. How do I flash the bios on this laptop?

If that computer wont boot to a screen that you can recognize, it is a brick. When the bios is corrupted and it wont allow the machine to start you cannot access any screens that will allow you to recover. It takes special equipment to flash the BIOS when this happens and most places just replace the whole motherboard because this equipment is not used often by repair shops.

Tip

Flashing BIOS via software

If you have access to the computer when it's turned on, you could try one of those programs that remove the password from the BIOS, by invalidating its memory.
However, it might happen you don't have one of those programs when you have access to the computer, so you'd better learn how to do manually what they do. You can reset the BIOS to its default values using the MS-DOS tool DEBUG (type DEBUG at the command prompt. You'd better do it in pure MS-DOS mode, not from a MS-DOS shell window in Windows). Once you are in the debug environment enter the following commands:
AMI/AWARD BIOS
O 70 17
O 71 17
Q
PHOENIX BIOS
O 70 FF
O 71 17
Q
GENERIC
Invalidates CMOS RAM.
Should work on all AT motherboards
(XT motherboards don't have CMOS)
O 70 2E
O 71 FF
Q
Note that the first letter is a "O" not the number "0". The numbers which follow are two bytes in hex format.

How to install bios

the bios is already on the board,
when you are booting the computer you have to push down on the F10, if that doesnt work than try F1 and thanF2, every time you try to enter the motherboard bios you have to start from a cold boot.
website for motherboard bios configuration and settings is at
http://www.msicomputer.com

if you want a copy of the bios setup and configurations and everything explained in detail go to your browser and type the following information.

MS-6758-040 BIOS MANUAL OR
MSI MS-6758-040 BIOS MANAUL

the bois controls everything the that runs you computer, video, ram, HD, CPU, PORT FUNCTIONS, BOOT SEQUENCE, SMART FAN CONFIGURATION, HD CONFIGURATION, TEMP. SETTINGS, AND ALOT MORE STUFF AND VERY LONG LIST.

MAKE SURE THE BATTERY IS MIN. 3VOLTS

Have Dell D266x gives me dell page that says bios revision and wont kick into windows

Visit the Dell Drivers Downloads websites and download the lastest BIOS version for the notebook.

See if you can get an MS-DOS version. Boot the system using an MS-DOS repair disk. then attach the disk with the BIOS setup by USB.

If you don't see an MS-DOS version, you may have to format and install or do a fresh install of your operating system (or a lower version that supported the BIOS). As soon as windows is re-installed, run the windows version you downloaded from the source disk you saved it.

This should work!

MSi Motherboard suddenly stopped seeing My IDE drives/ CD/DVD

Could quite simply be that its the IDE plug on the motherboard that's gone. If that's the case, you'll probably need a new motherboard.

As far as I can see, you've done pretty much everything that can be done to make sure it's not the motherboard.

Good Luck
