SOURCE: Can I use the Phono audio connection (only RCA connection unused) on my old school Technics SA-GX290 receiver in order to connect to an audio extractor so that I can have stereo sound on my new Roku ?
No you can't. The phono connection will have a built in pre-amp which amplifies the signal from Magnetic Cartridges. If you connect anything else to it, it will either damage the pre-amp or distort the signal of your device.
It's possible to get an audio switching box that can be connected to say a tape audio in jacks and safely connect it that way.
