Mitsubishi 265 input problem

Input-1 keeps coming up to be named

To add to my original comment, there is nothing connected to input-1 but several times during a viewing session, the screen changes to require specifying what's plugged into input-1. I hit "exit" and then must select "input" to reelect the drive I was watching (satellite plugged into HDMI 3). I have done a system reset and also a reset by holding down the power button (the latter suggested by Mitsubishi's support call line).

I have a mitsubishi HD1080 series TV and wanted to know how do I plug in a dvd player. Then how do I get it to play.

Connect an HDMI cable from the DVD's HDMI port to an unused HDMI port on the TV. Select the input from the settings menu and name it DVD or select the DVD name. Turn the DVD player ON. Using the input select button on the remote, select the HDMI DVD input. Wait a few seconds while the TV and DVD player establish a connection. The DVD player menu should appear. Insert a DVD and enjoy a movie. Hope this helps. Regards.

Mitsubishi 153 series keeps saying it's identified a new input 3 but there is nothing plugged into input 3.

Have you unplugged this set for any period of time? Many of their older sets had a soft restore Menu, 1,2,3 enter which may or may not work for this set-----if fails check with Mitsubishi to see if the set has a reset or restore(usually done with the remote) that puts the set back to new in the box setting wise.

TV screen goes blank but power stays on

Sounds like the CRTs are going into protective blanking due to the vertical output ic needing to be resolderd. Try resoldering the vertical IC that may possibly fix the issue.

Since the set turns on and displays this message we can asume the set is working, so for the next step simply change inputs and see if something comes up, either there is nothing hooked to input 1 or the device hooked to input 1 is off or has failed
