Question about Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS20 Digital Camera - Black

1 Answer

DMC ZS20 will not stop automatically taking pictures until shut off?

Purchased a rebuild camera on Amazon $225 in August 2012(90-day warranty) and by Jan 15 2013 started taking pictures as soon as the on button is turned on? The only way to stop is to shut off/remove battery or memory (4G-card). I was able to get to the "10-Burst" option and shut if off, but the camera will not stop taking pictures. Not many options left? There are temp changes in Idaho that could effect, but have not had where it would freeze? What to do! What to do!

Why has it taken you over four years to think this is a problem worth solving ? Far too late to return it now, of course - take it to a repair facility and ask their advice. Or, just buy another camera.

SOURCE: memory card locked

There is a switch on the SD memory card, slide the switch to unlock position before you insert the card into your camera.

SOURCE: Problem with Panasonic DMC-TZ5, can not take pictures with Flash.

My TZ5 has developed exactly the same problem. I took it to DK Audio Services at Horley,Surrey,RH8 9GA. who repair cameras for Panasonic and was told by the receptionist that although the camera works with the flash off at present it will eventually pack up altogether. She suggested that when I get the quote I phone Panasonic on 08705 3577 357 to try and get them to pay for the repair, it seems it is a known problem! My camera is just over a year old!!

How can I download pictures from my Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS20 onto my MAC?

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use iPhoto or any other photo cataloging program.

Over exposure photos

Try change the exposure of the camera: start the camera, set the dial to 'I' (automatic iso), then press the 'up' menu near the display until 'exposure' settings appear. move the slider to the left/right, according to your preference.
I reccomend using the automatic iso for taking pictures, it automatically adjust exposure.

This suggests the zoom motor has failed. As you only purchased it 2 weeks ago - it should be replaced under warranty
