1) Copy following link to identify timer and download manual:
http://waterheatertimer.org/Tork-consumer-timers-and-manuals.html#451

2) Don't forget to press reset button before starting to clear memory traces.
Each program must have ON and OFF time.
After setting current time, and pressing SET button, it appears you press the A+ button until 1 and ON show on display ... this is program1 ON.
Then it appears you press SET button and days of week will flash for Program1 ON. Cycle through choice of day(s) you want for program1 ON.

3) Add comment and say what you find, for further interactive help Jan 2013

SOURCE: My GE 7-Day Digital Timer model 15086 flashes on

I just bought one today and installed it. It does the same thing - flashes the lights off and on. After some research on the net, it seems that the problem is that an old house is wired with two pole wiring and the new fixtures, (timers included) are 3 pole. The conclusion I have found is that it will not work in a 2 pole wired house. There supposedlly are timers available for 2 pole wiring. I hope this helps. If you find out anything different, please let me know.

I WOULD NEED SOMEONE TO TALK ME THROUGH IN PERSON , HOW TO PROGRAM THE TIMER FOR 8AM TURN OFF AND 8PM TURN LIGHT ON EVERY DAY OF THE YEAR - THE SAME TIME ...

If you want someone to talk to you, you will have to pay for phone help.

Here are the simplified instructions.

Press Mode to step thru various options, you only need to get to CLK.

Then set the hour, minute and day of the week first.

If you want the timer to go on & off at the same time for 7 days, you must program 7 times.

Good luck, Gary

Setting the Time of Day

Press MODE to go to the Clock (CLK) settings. The display will flash with 12:00 AM.

Press HOUR+ to stop the flashing.

Press HOUR+ and M+ to set the current time in hours and minutes.

Make sure that AM and PM settings are correct.

Note: The day of the week is shown at the bottom of the display. If you have not programmed the calendar settings,

be sure to also set the current day of the week while programming the current time. To do this, press DAY until the
correct day of the week is shown. The CLOCK settings are now complete.

Press MODE to go to the first PGM screen. See Fig.9

Use DAY, H+ and M+ buttons to set the days, hours and specific times that you would like the timer to turn ON.

(NOTE: Be sure the word ON is displayed when setting the ON time.)

Press NEXT ON/OFF to program an OFF time.
Repeat the same steps for all 7 ON/OFF operations, if required.

Do not know how to set timer DT300 for Lights

Hi

Programming:
Set present time
Then set ON time for program 1
Set OFF time for program 1
Then set ON time for program 2
Set OFF time for program 2
Most timers will not function if there is a conflict in programming > for example Program 1 says ON at 6 and OFF at 7 and Program 2 says opposite or has overlapping times
When events are set, press SET once > this will put timer in RUN mode

If manual override works, and you set programming correctly, but timer does not carry out instructions, I guess the timer is no good.

Intermatic has 24 hour timers with 2 on-off per day
http://www.intermatic.com/products/timers/consumer%20indoor%20timers/lamp%20%20appliance%20timers.aspx
Intermatic has 7-day digital timers (all digital timers today are 7 day where you select the day that each program works)

I can not get the timer to automatically turn off and on UTILITECH 7-DAY DIGITAL IN WALL TIMER

Utilitec sells two different 7-day timers.
Open following two links to identify timer, see manual, and read wiring instructions:
http://waterheatertimer.org/Program-wire-Utilitec-0192773.html
http://waterheatertimer.org/Program-wire-Utilitec-0141224.html

From description of problem, it sounds that timer programming is not correct.
Each event needs ON time and OFF time.
If ON time is set.but OFF time is not set, then timer will turn ON and never turn OFF.
ON and OFF times must match days with each other.
Also if programs overlap or conflict, timer will not operate as expected.

I think instructions for both timers say that programs can be reviewed by pressing PROG button.
Re-read manual carefully.
Write out parts of manual that are confusing.

Add a comment for more free help.
Also take advantage of fixya phone service.

I answer questions for free.
I know timers and electrical devices, and have tested most of the brands.
You posted under the Woods 7-day timer 59018 or 59028.
Here is the manual:
http://waterheatertimer.org/pdf/Woods-59018-59028.pdf

There are several programmable timers today that look like Woods, and each brand has different programming.

If you do not have Woods, add a comment and I will walk through programming your brand

1) You have the clock set correctly which implies the wiring is correct. Good job!
2) Programming review:
Each program requires ON time to be set, and then OFF time to be set
For example you set Program1 ON 5:00PM for ALL days.
And then you set Program1 OFF 11PM for ALL days.

3) Programming steps:
Press PROG button until Timer 1 ON appears on display
Use Hour button to set 5 PM
Use MIN button to set :00
Default selects ALL days
(If you want other days, press DAY button until display shows correct block of days)
Press PROG button again to save Program1 ON

4) Now for Program1 OFF

5) To set Program1 Off
Press PROG button until Timer 1 OFF shows in display.
Use Hour button to set 11 PM
Use MIN button to set :00
Default selects ALL days
(If you want other days, press DAY button until display shows correct block of days)
Press PROG button again to save Program1 OFF

6) Program 1ON and Program1 OFF have been set ... so press the CLOCK button to return to current time.
If you want to set another program, press PROG button until Timer 2 ON displays

7) After setting programs, press Clock button so current time shows.

8) The manual shows one more thing ... if you program the timer during the hours 5-11pm, and the timer should be ON during those hours, you have to 'tell' the timer to turn ON by pressing the manual override ... after that the timer will operate normally.

If you need more assistance, add a comment.
If instructions help, give it a 4-thumb

I have digital programmable timers (Model DT121 and Model DT11) that will accept programs, but won't turn the attached lamps on and off at the programed times. The batterys are new and I've had them...

DT121 Manual
http://www.intermatic.com/~/media/files/intermatic/products/instructions/timers/dt121c%20-%20english.ashx

All Intermatic manuals
http://www.intermatic.com/customer%20service/instruction%20manuals.aspx

Intermatic does not show DT11
Intermatic shows the DT121 is no longer available

If the display shows and you can set programs, then the battery is good.
Does the manual override work? This indicates whether the timer on-off switch operates.
If manual override does not work, then I discovered that timers are no longer any good

Setting The Timer The timer has 14 settings (1-14). Odd numbered settings specify a time to turn on the appliance and even numbered settings specify a time to turn off the appliance. Follow these steps to set your timer. 1. Slide the RUN/PROG/TIME SET switch to PROG. The display shows the first setting. If you have not entered any setting, the display appears as shown in the illustration. 2. Press Event to select a setting to enter or change. 3. Press Hour to set the HOUR digits and press MIN to set minute digits to the correct time. NOTE: Be sure P appears to the left of the hour digits when you want to set a P.M. hour. 4. NOTES: Be sure to set the timer to turn off the appliance. The appli- ance remains on as long as there is power if you do not set a time for the appliance to turn off. To replace an existing event, select its setting number and set the new event time. To clear an event, select its setting number and press CLEAR twice. Be sure to clear both the on time and the off time for an event. If you set the timer to turn on the appliance every day, be sure to also set the timer to turn off the appliance every day. 7. Set the RUN/PROG/TIME SET switch to RUN. NOTE: You must set this switch to RUN to turn on or off the appliance either automatically or manually. When the timer automatically turns on the appliance, ON appears on the display and the indicator lights red. When the appliance turns off, the indicator turns off. Reviewing The Settings To review the settings in your timer, set RUN/PROG/TIME SET to PROG. Setting 1 appears on the display. Repeatedly press EVENT to view the other settings. NOTE: To determine event being programmed, pull the power for a period of 5 minutes. Then re-power the unit. The first event will be "ON" and the next will be "OFF", etc. There will be a number to the side of the display that tells you which event you are programming, The even numbers are "OFF" and the odd numbers are "ON" events.
