Question about Dryers
The strap to hold this fixture consists of a portion you fix to the ceiling box. Then there is an adjustable rotating portion which has ears at each end. The ears are used to attach the pan from the light fixture. This strap is "wobbly" and hence the pan does not fit as tightly to the ceiling as I would like (rotation of the strap portion with the ears is NOT a problem as it is locked by a set screw). How can I fix this? Does anyone know of a more robust strap with ears and where to get such a strap
Turning the strap upside down for mounting may help. If not, you may be able to get a stronger strap from an electrical supply source.

My fan just stopped working - no lights no fan :( and I just can't seem to find any type of switch - only the remote, which lights up just fine. Can anyone help???

SOURCE: remote controlled ceiling fan
unplug the fan then remove the batteries from the remote then plug the fan back in and, reinstall the batteries; this resets the fan control

Try twisting the bezel (cover) counterclockwise to unlock it from the mounting base plate on the ceiling. The other option is to see if the bezel/cowl has fasters (screws) holding it in place either from the sides near the top edge or at the bottom nearest the narrow portion of the cover.
Sometimes the fan cowl bezel is fastened using screws at the point nearest the motor shaft.
There could also be a trim ring that needs to be gently pryed off from the edge nearest the ceiling, so you can gain access to the screws that are holding the cowl in place on the mounting plate. There are usually 2 sets of 2 screws placed 180 degees apart from each other that secure the cowl in place.
I hope you find this Very Helpful and best regards!
