Question about Plantronics Explorer 220 Bluetooth Headset Wireless Headset

1 Answer

Plantronics Explorer 220 no longer connects to Blackberry Curve

The bluetooth is already paried with the phone. The phone shows that the device is connected when it is not. Everytime I make a call it comes throught the handset not the earpeice. When I select bluetooth devices on the phone and select the plantronics, it asks me if I want to disconnect. I have deleted the device from the phone and paired it again and the same thing still happens. It use to pair very easy, I would put the bluetooth on hit the button and my phone would ask me if I want to connect to the plantronics and that was it. I let the bluetooth die just so my phone wouldn't say it was connected and recharged and started over, that didn't work either. Please help.

You can have the two devices connected, but still get your sound through the phone. During a call (maybe call your voicemail or an automated number, just to make a call) try holding down the answer/end button on the earpiece until it beeps, and see if the sound switches from the phone to the earpiece. You can also try pressing the speakerphone button on your phone during a call to switch the call to the earpiece.

Did either of those ideas work?

Check that both devices have activated Bluetooth connectivity. Check that the distance between the two devices is not over 33'. Make sure that the Plantronics bluetooth Explorer is not hidden on your phone. Sometimes the bluetooth activations are not easily accessed. Here is a link to the Explorer 220 pairing instructions for you to try.

I am trying to pair my 220 with my blackberry 9600. This is my 3rd BB. It won't let me pair this phone. Do I have to clear the other pairings? I no longer have these phones. Is there something else I need...

Shut your Explorer 220 off. Shut your phone off and take the battery out for about 30 seconds. Put the battery back in and turn your phone and headset back on and try re-pairing them. This should take care of the problem for you.

My 220 plantronics bluetooth keeps shutting off on me during calls sometimes it will stay on for 30 sec. or so if im lucky.even when its just connected on stand by it turns off. i have a Blackberry curve...

You have an older headset and it sounds like the battery isn't holding a charge. Try pairing a different headset to your phone and see if the problem goes away. If it does, you know it's the battery. If the problem continues, then you will know the problem is with your phone and it's Bluetooth connection.
