i hav an xbox 360 and i have had trouble connecting to friends other people etc... i have the belkin F5D8631-4 and would like to know if there is a way to change the nat type from strict to open so i can connect
Find Virtual Servers and the write in the xbox360 ports ( which are UDP 88, UDP 3074, and TCP 3074) Just make sure that Inbound port and Private port are the same on each. You get your Private IP address from your xbox under network settings.
type in the last few digits from your xbox ip in here and click Enable.
That's the router setup now all you have to do is setup your xbox. For that you need to scan for a new network and type in your web key.

Put the IP Address of your Xbox 360 in the DMZ on your router. Anything in the DMZ is free of all firewall restrictions and all ports are open to this device. Once you place the Xbox 360 in the DMZ your NAT will be Open.
