Olympus VR340 dead after firmware flash.

I was flashing an updated firmware and accidentally pulled the usb cable out of my PC, when I moved the camera. Tried to turn on the camera but it is totally dead. Is there any way I can recover this?

Are you sure you finalized the firmware upgrade procedure according to the instructions? This sounds a little like you pulled the plug a little too soon... Have you done it according to these instructions: http://www.olympusamerica.com/cpg_section/OMfirm.asp And kept the camera connected until the update was 100 % complete? If you did everything right, try reseting the camera - take the batteries out for the day, and see if it helps. if you're back to step one(the reason you did the upgrade), try the firmware upgrade again. If still it doesn't work contact olympus, and I hope you have a valid warranty. Good luck

Hi there
Possibly not, try another camera lead in a different USB port.
If its the same format the camera card and try again, if you still get the same result, the camera is faulty.

Good luck and thanks for using Fixya!!

Your phone is dead but you can fix it by taking it to a cellphone repair center. They can flash your cellphone so that the firmware will be fixed. Updating your firmware is simple as long as you have sufficient battery because when the update has been interrupted, it will result to what happened to your phone. Also make sure that the usb cable will not be moved..
