try to check if the led indicator of your optical drive is still lighting up if its not, it might be probably dead already. if its still lighting up then you have a disc trap inside the tray you may try to do a paper clip method , just straighten the clip out and try to poke the square like small port/hole on front of the disc tray. poke it further till the disc tray pops-out. thank you
unplug the machine, find a good sized pan that is very low. get a wet vac ready, then get to the pump filter there should be a drain that you would use before removing the large cap. either use the small drain "less messy but time consuming" or the large one "really quick but water all over"

the lasers not detectinfg the movie as it has to focus on the disc before the unit will reconize it as a disc or movie. Have you tryed to clean the lens with a disc cleanner yet? try it and let us know. Good Luck
