SOURCE: My SyncMaster P2450H is turning

If you are going to DIY and already try the monitor with another PC, and have proper tools and know safety precaution then please read on:
Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply (they should be replaced in a set), blown fuses; poor solder joints, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed SAMSUNG monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/albums/yy352/budm/
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.

I have a samsung moniter itts about 2 years old lately the picture keeps going grey like a lack of contrast,I have checked monitor leads i dont lose picture. I am a novice coulde it be my pcs graphics card...

If you mean by lack of contrast, that the screen illumination is low, then you probably have a faulty backlight, i.e. one or more of the cold cathode flourescent tubes is not working. Although this may be repairable, it may be more economical to buy a new monitor. Get a quote from a TV repair shop.

Error messge "Check Signal Cable"

Your Lcd monitor i guessed is working. Try to check your system ram or memory and video card. You must discharge your electro static in your hand first before touching any of the computer components because it is sensitive to electro static, you must hold the computer casing for about 1 minute only. Then unplug the video card and memory and clean the pin using eraser to remove the dust and brush (small paintbrush) it also. Dust can cover the video and memory pin which will not be detected by your motherboard.

How do you remove the stand connector from the base of the monitor?

Pull hard: http://org.downloadcenter.samsung.com/downloadfile/ContentsFile.aspx?CDSite=US&CttFileID=2355041&CDCttType=UM&ModelType=C&ModelName=LS24LRZKUV/ZA&VPath=UM/200910/20091008164533593/BN59-00906E-02Eng.pdf
Officially this is how its done. Put monitor face down and pull with the foot of the stand still attached. It will feel like you are breaking bones but stand and main monitor will be unharmed.
If your monitor is of a different type/model, try the other kind of Samsun stand system. Instructions here: http://ars.samsung.com/customer/usa/jsp/faqs/faqs_view_us.jsp?SITE_ID=1&PG_ID=0&AT_ID=29344&PROD_SUB_ID=0&PROD_ID=133

Samsung Syncmaster 245BW sync problem

If you are plugged into a NVIDIA graphics card, use the NVIDIA control panel scaling option to "do not scale" then set the resolution to 1920x1080. This monitor is a 16:10 aspect ratio instead of 16:9 like HD TV's, so it is necessary to turn of scaling from the software and thus give black bars.
