I recently changed to Yahoo email and now when Protected Mode is enabled on IE I cannot receive emails. It says there are no emails in my box. However, if I turn off protected mode I can receive emails and read what has been in my box. I had no such problem with my other webmail service. I have had this computer for more than a year and have had no problem until now with Protected Mode. I do feel that it protects my computer.

Trying to reach an email address that was returned

If you get an error when you email the address, the error will tell you why it was returned. The account may no longer exist, or the receiving server may block you due to your sending server's reputation or spam content. There are many other reasons why your email isn't delivered. Read the returned message for an explanation.

I added my hotmail account to live mail, but it isn't pulling any mail. Isn't this an email client?

hotmail is also an email client...but you need to change the settings for your pop or imap server!!!

  1. select pop3 as your incoming server.
  2. type "pop3.live.com" under the incoming pop or imap server.
  3. enter "smtp.live.com" under the outgoing smtp server.
  4. make sure the outgoing authentication check box is done.
  5. type your full hotmail email address under the email user name(e.g chance@hotmail.com or chance@live.com).
  6. enter your hotmail password.
  7. make sure do not download email is not checked this time
  8. click finish and highlight the pop3.live.com account
  9. click properties and go to the advanced tab
  10. make sure this server requires a secure connection(ssl) is checked under both the incoming pop3 and outgoing smtp servers.
  11. type "585"under the outgoing server (smtp) and "995" under the incoming server.
  12. click ok and close.
you will be able to receive your emails for sure.

The passwords for the email accounts I use through Outlook 2003 keep disappearing, and everytime there's a scheduled send and receive I have to enter the passwords in a window that pops up. I've read...

Try This,

1.) If you are using an exchange server then try remapping it as it usually comes up if teh exchange server is in correctly mapped.
2.) Try creating a new profile on the outlook 2003 with the correct server information .. this should fix it.

Please let me know if this worked.
