Try the Eureka website. They have the parts listed by vacuum model, and they use pictures if you can't remember the model exactly.

Need replacement roller

This is a link to Sears website. They have replacement parts for a ton of household items. If you look on your id plate on the vac post your exact model number here and I'll go look up the exact part, however, the one I found is in this link and it looks just like your vac. So This may already be the right one. and for 27 bucks it's not too bad. http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/part-model/Eureka-Parts/All-Products-Parts/Model-4700A/1281/0645000/50031517/00001?blt=06&prst=&shdMod=4700A Hope this helps you

I need to know what type of belt my Eureka Maxima vacuum takes.

The belt you need is one that fits the 4700 series or if you find any other Eureka packaging the belt would be the "U" series. You can find them at Wal-Mart.

The vacuum tube keeps coming out of the back of the vacuum and dirt goes all over. How do you stop it from coming out?

The simple and obvious answer to me is Duct Tape.

There should be a detent or similar latch arrangement on the part you are talking abut. It may be broken or you may not be getting it properly engaged.

I know the frustration of cleaning the (fill in the blank) only to have the thing come apart and spew the crud ALL OVER THE PLACE! The result is a bigger mess than you had before you did all the hard work to clean in the first place. (insert picture of shop vac and sawdust in the air.)

I hope this info helps you. Enjoy your day

Hello,
The belt is broken or badly stretched and needs to be replaced. Here is a link to download a manual.
Look for the "Download Manual" on the right side of page. Scroll down towards bottom of page and you'll see how to open it up to change the belt.
Hope this helps.

Vac is supposed to have auto height adjustment but it doesn't

If the brush isn't working then its maybe because the drive belt is broken. Locate cross head screws on top of the hood of the Eureka vac (two at the front usually and one below the duster or at the left hand side if looking at the vacuum from the front) Once the screws are undone check to see the drive belt is intact. If its not then replace with a new one and check at the same time that the roller brush is properly put in. If the drive belt is ok then check the brush roll - something may have jammed it if it isnt the belt. Dont forget to rate please.

Eureka 4700a bagless vacuum

it's probably the lower tube that is plugged, disconnect the lower tube at the elbow, use a large pipe cleaner (bent at the end your pushing through, as to not puncture the tube itself.) it should emerge just behind the brush. check in and around the pipe cleaner for any debris.
