Question about Kodak EASYSHARE 5300 All-In-One InkJet Printer

It will not print black print information on paper, bad quality

The ink cartridges are both fill black and color. it won't print the information in black print on the pages. it will print color. bad quality

    I have the same problem. At first, my printer printed excellent photos and images. Now, it looks like S%%*#. I changed ink cartridges but now there is no black.

The black print won't print, but colour does, although very lightly. I have refilled the ink cartridges at Island Inkjet, so there is ink,..but black won't print at all.


your black ink cartridge got bad sprayer nozzles now you gotta replace it
and why the other color one is not bad yet cus printer as will known will depend on black ink far more so the black cartridge is heated up more times

My epson stylus color 400 will not print in black...I have replaced the two ink cartridges...if I type in color it prints in color...if I type with black ink...it does not print...please help


I had the same problem.
Solution: The black don't print in standard resolution (regular paper)
Set your printer in higher quality paper and your black will print.
This is another problem with Epson nx 415..................

Can the hp4180 run with just the black ink cartridge filled with ink and not the color cartridge


no, I don't think that it is recommended to run with just the black ink cartridge filled and no color cartridge.

But, you can try it, as some hp printers do work that way.

The instructions say that low ink cartridges should be replaced to get the best print quality.

ADJUST THE COLOR AND PRINT SPEED You may need to adjust the color and print speed. CHECK THE LEVEL OF INK IN THE PRINT CARTRIDGES 1 From the Finder desktop, double-click the Lexmark X5400 Series folder. 2 Double-click the Lexmark X5400 Series Utility icon. 3 From the Maintenance tab, check the ink levels of the cartridges. If an exclamation point (!) appears on a cartridge, the ink level is low. Install a new cartridge. Improving print quality These are possible solutions. Try one or more of the following: CHECK PAPER • Use the appropriate paper for the document. If you are printing photos or other high-quality images, for best results use Lexmark Photo Paper or Lexmark PerfectFinish Photo Paper. Do not use Lexmark Premium Photo Paper. I have been told my printhead is malfunctioning. Can I clean it myself?


You can look in thr user guide or printer help for Troubleshooting and Routine Manteinance.Make sure that the Printer Driver or Paper Type setting in the menu matches the
type of paper you are using. (See Printing in the Software User's Guide on the CDROM.Make sure that your ink cartridges are fresh. The following may cause ink to clog The expiration date written on the cartridge package has passed. (Cartridges
stay usable for up to two years if kept in their original packaging.) The ink cartridge was in your machine over six months.The ink cartridge may not have been stored properly before use.
Try using the recommended types of paper.
CLEANING:
Press Ink.
Press a or b to choose Cleaning.
Press OK.
Press a or b to choose Black, Color
or All.
Press OK.
The machine cleans the print head.
When cleaning is finished, the machine
will go back to standby mode
automatically.

Checking the print quality
If faded or streaked colors and text appear on
your output, some of the nozzles may be
clogged. You can check this by printing the
Print Quality Check Sheet and looking at the
nozzle check pattern.
Press Ink.
Press a or b to choose Test Print.
Press OK.
Press a or b to choose
Print Quality.
Press OK.
Press Color Start.
The machine begins printing the Print
Quality Check Sheet.

You need to take it a couple steps further after your test print. Sounds like your print heads need cleaning or your cartridge may need aligning. Keep getting right cartridge incorrect. what does this mean?


For the check cartridge error:
Gently clean the contacts in the carriage, and on the cartridges with a paper towel or coffee filter moistened with water.
For the poor print quality or missing print:
Perform the Blot Test
Remove cartridge from machine, fold a paper towel back over a couple of times so it is about 4 layers thick, shake cartridge up and down hard, shake it over a sink unless you want to clean ink off the floor.
Now blot the nozzles of the cartridge on the paper towel, for a black cartridge you should see two black stripes, for a color cartridge you should see three colored stripes, if you don't have all stripes the cartridge is clogged or bad.
Have you checked the expiration date on the cartridges you are using?
Are you installing new HP cartridges, or refills?
You may be able to recover a clogged cartridge by swishing the tip in a saucer with a very small amount of warm water, then gently wiping it on a wet paper towel, be gentle the nozzles are delicate.
And do not trust the ink gauge on the PC, cartridges can dry up from the machine just sitting, the cartridges are vented, venting is necessary to let air in so that a vacuum won't develop in the cartridge. get more information and help for HP Printer Ink Cartridge .

The documents are faded even after putting in a new cartridge


  • make sure you are using inkjet papers as inkjet printers work on inkjet papers.
  • Lift the printer access door, then remove the ink cartridges from the printhead.
  • Insert the ink cartridges into the printhead, then press down firmly until you hear them click into position.
  • Close the printer access door.
  • Reprint the picture or document that had the quality problem.
  • if still light prints then proceed further
  • Print Test Page
  • Review the printed test page and verify that:
    • the left color blocks are gray, cyan, and black.
    • the right color blocks are magenta, yellow, and black.
    • each block is completely filled with color.
  • If no---> Clean Printhead, the On/Off light flashes during the cleaning procedure.When the On/Off light glows steady, print test page again.
  • If Yes---->The problem could be caused by the type of paper you are using.

Printer not printing photos with all colors


  1. Lift the printer access door, then remove the ink cartridges from the printhead.
  2. Verify that the label on the ink cartridges is intact, and that the cartridges are not damaged.
  3. Verify that the KODAK Ink Cartridges have not been refilled.
  4. Insert the ink cartridges into the printhead, then press down firmly until you hear them click into position.
  5. Close the printer access door.
  6. Check the printer status monitor on your computer (or the LCD screen on the printer) to determine if there is sufficient ink available for your print job.
  7. NOTE: Once the "Black ink cartridge is low" or "Color ink cartridge is low" message is displayed, print quality can be affected.
  8. Reprint the picture or document that had the quality problem
If still same quality then...
  1. Load inkjet paper into the paper tray.
  2. On the control panel, press Menu.
  3. Select Calibrate Printer.
  4. Select Print Calibration Page
  5. Press Start.
  6. When the print is complete, press Cancel to end the calibration process.
  7. Check the six color bars on the printed calibration sheet.

Are the color bars completely filled with solid color?


If no then:

  1. Press Menu.
  2. Select Clean Printhead, then press OK.
  3. Select Deep Clean, then press OK. The On/Off light flashes green during the cleaning procedure.

  5. Select Calibrate Printer.
  6. Select Print Calibration Page
  7. Press Start.
  8. When the print is complete, press Cancel to end the calibration process.

Are the color bars completely filled with solid color?

If again No...

then printhead needs replacement... call Technical Support to get it replaced

Ink and printer


You'll need to either put it back in or replace it.
You need to have both color and black cartridges in for your printer to work.
Never throw away cartridges, save money and refill them or you can take them to most any computer store for recycling.
