Question about GE (PSS26MSRSS) Side by Side Refrigerator
I have a profile side by side model tfh30prtabb and ice keeps forming on the floor of the freezer and every now and then the temp goes up like five degrees on both sides can you help me out john
I had that problem and just got off the phone with the GE help line. I had a LOT of ice building up and did not realize that eventually it hit the bottom of the bottom basket, thus preventing it from sliding back all the way. This eventually prevented the freezer door from closing tightly, so the problem quickly escalated. The man on the phone told me to melt the ice on the bottom with a hair dryer until I could get it all out, then be sure that the DRAIN LINE is also opened up. He said to shoot in a solution of 2 cups hot water with 1 t baking soda to force the line open so that it does not start building up again. The problem for me is that I cannot find the drain.... hope this helps!

Same repair as water leak on floor. unplug, remove back inside panel of freezer, clean out drain hole.
