Does your operating system recognize the cd? You can check by attempting to browse the contents of the drive. If you can view the contents of the cd then try restarting. If you can't look for a small pin hole in the front of the cd/dvd drive. This is a manual release mechanism. Take a paper clip unbend it and gently push into the hole until the drive releases. Be gentle but forceful if you will.

Need the drivers for a lexmark P6250 for a friend that doesn't have internet. Can I save it to a disk?

Hi, go to "driverguide.com" & find the driver for the printer. Then download it to your own pc. make sure you identify the folder where the download gets saved. you should be able to copy the file from that folder to either a USB stick or an SD card or burn it onto a CD/DVD. then you can put the media into any other machine & copy the file to a hard drive directory. Hope this helps

Copy the files back onto the device.
Use the CD/DVD disk on your computer.

Im trying to review pics copied onto a dvd-r disc and i can't review them

Are you able to see the files on the DVD? Try copying the files onto your computer first before viewing them.If the problem continues, try to use a different computer because your DVD/CD drive might be having trouble viewing burned DVD/CD(s).

Installing Vista on new hard drive- CD/DVD Driver not found

Are you installing from the SONY-supplied "System Restore" CD/DVD disks, or from a "generic" Vista DVD-ROM?

The SONY disks _should_ have the correct drivers for your notebook computer.

Does not boot up

hi...
Probably a virus, or your windows folder got corrupted. Try to use Knoppix (A linux distrobution that boots from a CD) to get all your data onto a pen drive or external hard drive. Download the Knoppix ISO at Knoppix.com and burn it onto a CD or DVD using MagicISO (magiciso.com). Insert the CD, and you should see the boot screen. Open the file manager, and copy all the files you want to keep from your hard drive to a pen drive or external hard drive. Then, reinstall Windows using a recovery CD (one might have come with your computer). Copy the files back

Averatec 3700 hard drive

The hard drive is located under the plastics on the right below keyboard. Accessing is a pain and a bit of trial and error.

If the system crashed, I would use a linux live cd like PUPPY
to transfer what files you want to a flash drive then use the recovery partition to restore to factory settings.

if you need the distribution of puppy I can e-mail it to you or you can google it and download it. Live cd's load into ram memory and once loaded you "mount" the hard drive access it and copy files to a "mounted" flash drive.

The recovery partition is accessed by one of the function keys

DVDs and backup

Since recordable HD DVDs are not yet commercially available, I am afraid the only way to store your HD videos is to keep them on your tape, move them onto your PC hard-drive, an use an external hard-drive. hopefully there will soon be online video storage services that support the HDV standard.

Model DRW 6S160PX06C

You cannot edit files *directly* on the CD/DVD. CD-RW and DVD-RW means you can "erase and re-burn" a cd or dvd, and reuse them like they were new.

You CAN however, just copy the files from the CD onto the hard drive and work from there. If you did that, sometimes files that are copied from a CD to the computer get copied with their "Read Only" flag set.

To undo that, in windows explorer, select the offending files that are on your HARD DRIVE, right click and go to Properties.

Uncheck "Read Only"

Click OK.

Now your files should be editable.

Again I emphasize that you cannot edit files directly on the CD or DVD. You can copy them to your computer, edit and change them as you see fit, and then re-burn the cd or dvd.
