DID YOU FORGET TO change screen resolution to what stated on back of game box?

Also, You have to delete all of your Graphics folder, tick skin cache and then untick always reload skin on confirm.

Are you running the latest Patch mate?

If you have a shortcut on your desktop you can do the following:

* Right-click on the FM shortcut.
* Choose "Properties" from the pop-up menu.
* In the "Target" field, add the --reset_preferences command line option after "fm.exe", so it should look like this:
"C:\Program Files\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2009\fm.exe" --reset_preferences
* Press OK and then try to run the game as normal, using the shortcut.

You'll want to remove the command after you run the game, as otherwise it will continue to reset your preferences every time you launch.

If you don't have a shortcut you can make one and then perform the instructions on the shortcut you've made.

* If you purchased and installed the game through Steam you should be able to find the fm.exe in the following directory:
C:/Program Files/Steam/SteamApps/Common/Football Manager 2009/
* If you purchased and installed the game from a boxed DVD copy you should be able to find the fm.exe in the following directory:
C:/Program Files/Sports Interactive/Football Manager 2009/"

Before doing that, do a system restore and restore your computer back to a date that it was working. Go to start, programs, accessories, system tools, system restore, and follow the onscreen prompts.

Hi, a file is corrupt.

Uninstall the game, fully, from add or remove programs.
start -> control panel -> add or remove programs or uninstall programs

find the program and uninstall.

Get the cd, and install the game again. The problem should be solved, if not let me know.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Xml parsing error

I would recommend to try the following procedure:

C: -> Users -> -> AppData -> Roaming -> Sports Interactive -> Football Manager 2011 -> Settings (Windows 7 / Vista) or C: -> Documents and Settings -> -> Application Data -> Sports Interactive -> Football Manager 2011 -> Settings (XP)

You should locate the "Settings" folder - delete it. However make a copy of it, because I must warn you, that you could potentialy lose all your saved games. However, it should get rid of the XML parsing error.

Try reinstalling it. to reinstall it, go to Add or Remove programs. Then go to Add Programs, then click on CD or floppy(if you have a floppy drive. If you don't have a floppy drive, then it will say CD and something else). If this still comes up, then i don't know.

Hoping someone can help - I was playing Football manager 2009 on my laptop but the battery died. After charging it again when i tried to play it again an error came up saying 'xml parsing error - not well...

You could go into your Add/Remove programs and select the program for removal/repair. if it comes with the repair feature, you'll probably be taken throyugh a series of options, otherwise uninstalling it and reinstalling it all over again would be the last resort.
