The overheating can be caused by :-
The fan has stopped working - needs replacing
The vents and or fan is blocked with dust - needs cleaning
When operating the laptop it needs to be placed on a flat surface so the vents on the bottom of the laptop are ubobstructed.

Turn the computer off.
Remove the side-panel, to expose the motherboard.
Turn the computer on.
When you see PRESS <blah> TO ENTER BIOS SETUP, press the <blah> key.
Use the "arrow" keys to move around the BIOS SETUP menu,
looking for any "system health" menu-entry.
Press the "enter" key to select that menu-entry.
It should report the current motherboard temperature, and the current CPU temperature,
and the temperature-limit, beyond which the motherboard will force a shutdown.
It may also report the speed of the power-supply fan, the case fan (if installed), and the CPU fan.
Also, take a look at the fans, to confirm that they are spinning.
Replace any non-functioning fans.

PC Getting auto shutdown

The most common reason of a PC getting auto shutdown is that the processor may be getting over heated.
Every processor has a TjMax temperature. when the processor reaches that temperature, it starts throttling(slow down) and if it continues to become more hotter then it automatically sends a shutdown signal to the Computer

Solution:-
  • Clean the Heat-sink.
  • Check the fan speed.
  • clean the cabinet.
  • use thermal paste over thee processor.
  • Make sure there is proper ventilation in your cabinet.
Hope this may help you......cheers:)..plz vote

1- Scanning computer to eliminate malwares, spywares and the viruses from your laptop.
2- Repairing and cleaning Windows registry.
These two tips are found to be very helpful to fix the laptop shutdown problem. Almost all the computer users surf internet which could result in viruses attacking your system. Some of these infections are really pesky and cause the machines to shutdown randomly.
The registry errors, however, are the internal errors and can become a cause of system crashes and freezes. The registry keys shall be in good health to keep a system perfect.
When I noticed my laptop keeps shutting down everytime, I tested the Intel Software Partner, RegInOut to fix the random shutdown problem with my laptop.

Laptop turning off

Often, if a system turns off every time at roughly the same time, it's a hardware problem. System gets too hot, shuts down, restart it and it'll run again for a while, but not quite as long, and continue like that. Can you feel/hear the fan moving air? Possibly clogged, see what you can do to get it cleaned up a bit. Does it make any difference what surface it's on? May be covering a vent on the bottom or back.

With the message you are getting on your screen, there are couple things you need to do.First thing you need to do is make sure your cooling fans are all working if they are your next step is to go out and get a can of compressed air to clean the heat sink on the processor and any other cooling fan that needs to be cleaned before doing this unplug your computer to be on the safe side.If the heat sink looks clean you may need to remount the heat sink using thermal paste.Remember after cleaning your computer try to clean it often this is one thing that most computer user's overlook.
