Frigidaire Stove clock resets to 12:00 when igniters turned on

New Frigidaire Stove (model FGFL87GSG) clock resets to 12:00 when stove top igiters are turned on.

same reset problem.  Had the local appliance contractor out, said he's never seen such an issue before.  Replaced the entire clock module, problem still here.  Appliance contractor apparently beat out of Fridigaire that the know this is a problem but don't have a solution yet.  They say a polarity problem between the ignitor circuit and clock.  Contractor is coming next week to "move some wires around".  Not a very encouraging solution.

I have the same problem. This is an intermittent problem, maybe once every 20 to 30 starts the clock goes resets and the appliance beeps just like if unplugged it and then plugged it in again. I’m an electrical engineer and this sounds like the microcontroller that runs the appliance is being reset by noise caused by the spark igniters. This is definitely a design problem. Separating the wiring of the igniters and the control board should help. When I get a chance I’ll have to connected an oscilloscope and look at the noise. The control board microcontroller reset pin probably needs an RC snubber or an isolated ground. If /when I find something more definite, I’ll place another posting.

    Fixed it.

Putting an RC snubber across the AC input of the igniter module will fix the problem. The igniter generates high frequency, high amplitude noise that causes the PIC microcontroller on the control board to reset. A snubber damps out these high frequency oscillations and prevents the microcontroller from resetting. You can buy them premade or make one yourself. I used a .022uF, 1000V ceramic disk capacitor in series with a ½ watt 47 ohm resistor. Solder one lead of the resistor to one lead of the capacitor. Use heat shrink tubing to insulate the exposed leads on the resistor and capacitor. Cut off original female spade connectors and crimp in the snubber with the wire. I’ve run in this configuration for a longer than a month and no more reset problem. Maybe Frigidaire could do a little more product testing before we have to correct their engineering mistakes.

Mine has the same symptom and I will try this solution. I see the Spark Module on the parts diagram but it's not clear from the diagram where on the range the Spark Module is. Can you please give a hint as to how to access the Spark Module (from below the whole range, under the main top panel)?

Local contractor came back. Said 6 other people have reported the problem according to Frigidaire.  Wasn't home so I don't know exactly what they did but they claimed to have moved some wires around.  So far no problems.  Electrical engineering friend said that they likely swapped some ground connections around so that when the ignitor draws current it doesn't drop the voltage of the whole system.  Not sure if a homeowner could troubleshoot and solve this one without directions from manufacturer.

The only thing working on my stove is the clock???

I had this problem the other day with a customer stove. It turned out his outlet had a bad connection and the prongs were fried. His stove was getting less than 120 volts where as it needs 240 volts for anything aside from the clock to run.The solution was to replace the wall receptacle and the cord to the stove. To see if you have this problem start by unplugging the stove to see if the prongs on the plug are burnt. If they look clean then this is not your problem.
Check your breaker box, there are two breakers for your stove outlet. Sometimes one of them could be tripped off causing this same problem. Reset both breakers for your stove regardless (If resetting your breaker fixes the problem but it trips again, have your stove inspected).Hopefully this helps

No heat from burners or oven after relocating stove

Hi Ron - From what you have described if neither the burners nor oven turns on make sure the electrical connecting is 240V. The oven light and clock portions only required 115V. The clock and oven light working may indicate an electrical circuit breaker supplying the range is tripped or a fuse is blown. Confirm household circuit is correct and the range cord is properly wired to the terminal block.

What is a f13 error code on a Frigidaire Gallery smooth top stove

Hi danair2,

the F13 error is related to the clock. this error can occur when the clock looses communication between the keypad or any of the sensor in the stove, including the heat probe. sometimes resetting the power will fix the problem.

try disconnecting power to the stove completely and flip the corresponding breaker on and off on the breaker box.
wait 30 seconds and than turn everything back on.
if the problem returns after power-up, replace the clock.

R.K.

Frigidaire Range control panel DEAD

We tested the EOC and it will indeed need a replacement. Also, just a couple weeks prior we ran the "clean" mode on the oven as did another poster who experienced the "pop" and loss of the control board/oven function, but still had stove top function.

Stove won't heat

Oven was working, I had it on pre-heat, then I turned on the stove top, but the burners won't heat. When I turn on the stove top the stove makes a short BUZZ noise and the clock area lights up, when the burner is turned off all the lights go out. Please help, food prepared.
Thank You

PF on Whirlpool super capacity 465 electric Stove Model RF366PXGW2

PF = Power Failure. Sounds like you have a bad electrical connection. With your breaker off, check that the connections from the cord to the range are all good and tight. Next, check the receptacle where the cord plugs in. Remove the cover and check the connections there as well. Examine the power cord also. There could even be a poor connection at the breaker box (at the circuit breaker or the neutral buss bar) but not as likely, as your problem appeared when you moved your range.
