I have problem with vga it doesn't display and it comes lines on the screen and the laptop doesn't boot too

I'm no computer expert but have done a few of vga and no boot problems. Try your vga on another computer to confirm if vga is working. If the vga works on another computer, then you can concentrate on your computer booting.
Try turning on your computer on safe mode..most computers boots on safe mode when you turn the computer on and continuously press f8, normal start up will happen but it will be in safe mode, but notice display will be a little different(bigger) ..try and restore your computer settings on a later date by doing a system restoration. Or if you know any software recently installed that might caused your computer not to boot, you can uninstall it when in safe mode...try these and see if it works.

My inspiron screen occasionally blinks off in safe mode. When doing a normal boot up. after a short time it blacks out out before I can see my log in

Its VGA /Display Driver Problem. So remove Display Driver completely from Control Panel >> Add Remove Program.

If you have CD that came with Laptop then Install CGA Drivers from CD. You can find the drivers from Manufacturers Website also.

Black screen comes up on normal mode. only able to run on safe mode.

When you power up the computer press F8 key 5 to 6 times then you can see some menu enter in "Enable vga mode" then go to control panel->display property change screen resolution to 1024*768 then aplly and ok then check.
If same in enable vga mode then enter in safe mode and uninstall graphic driver then reinstall it in normal mode.
Let me know if you need further assistance.
Thanks for using FixYa.

The screen has cracked on the hp paviallion latop but the remote monitor will not work in any other mode than safe mode. is there a work around where i can get the computer to work in normal mode with the ...

Yes the monitor should work in normal mode and is a keyboard toggle.
The toggle is performed by holding the Fn key and hit the F8 key, you may have to tap the F8 key a couple of times, also wait a for few seconds for the switch to take place.

Good luck.

Blue screen after less than 5 minutes after boot-up. IALMRNT5 error.

Try booting in safe mode and try system restore, by clicking on start>All prog>accessiories>system tools>system restore. and restore the system to an earlier time when it was working fine.

Latop d620 worked ine but now screen is lack unless in safe mode

Now I don’t know how unplugging it or moving it would cause that problem but it does sound like you might have an issue with the refresh rate and or screen resolution at a setting that is to high for the screen to display (safe mode only loads windows core components and minimal set of drivers like basic vga driver for display which is why it probably works in safe mode)

If you are running windows XP then try the following:

Ok try hitting F8 key before XP logo appears for boot menu then select "enable vga mode" then after you get to a desktop go to display settings and lower the screen resolution and refresh rate setting
(refresh rate should be at 60hz) resolution could be different depending on which screen you have there... but try 1024x768 just to be safe then reboot into normal mode and see if it works and if it does then you can adjust the resolution to what it was before problem occurred

If you are running Windows Vista then boot from the Vista CD and select “repair my computer” and then “fix startup problems” and it should do it for you

I was playing online games on my sony vaio. Suddenly I got blue lines on the screen and the laptop stopped responding. So I tried restarting the laptop but I get blue thin vertical lines before the laptop...

Blue thin lines before it boots will rule out an operating system or driver fault. So it would appear something in the machine has failed.
Do you have a VGA monitor you can connect to it and see whether it shows the fault? This will show that if the fault also shows on the external monitor, it is likely an electronic fault on the main board, whereas if it works on the external monitor but not on the built-in monitor, my guess would be the cable that goes from the main board up through the hinge of the screen into it, or a connector, or an actual fault with the LCD display.
Windows booting normally once the display drivers were disabled indicates to me that Windows is no longer detecting the faulty display and therefore boots normally - possibly pointing to failed electronics in some way. It could even be corrupt BIOS that controls the video or something along these lines, though that's unlikely.
Good luck, either way it sounds like it's off to a computer repair shop. Is it under warranty?

Turning on my laptop

Hello Norm

This is Romeet, id like to try and help with this. Sounds a lot likely to be either Display Driver problem, System Memory or VGA Memory Problem. However we shall try and use the easiest ( Cost Friendly ) method first lols..

Start your Laptop in Safe Mode.

Right Click your " My Computer " icon and select properties.

Go to Display Adapters / VGA Controllers and right click your display adapter and restart your laptop.

WIndows should be able to pick your display drivers again on rebooting and let me know if this solves the problem

All the Best!
