I wanted to install a fresh copy of xp in my Toshiba Satellite l300-07R and without thinking I deleted drive D which contained Vista is there anyway of getting this back without re-installing. Thank you in advance.

Oh my goodness, who uses a modem? Please don't tell me you get on the internet using a phone line and modem.

Ohh Internet Modem as his first sentence says. I'm thinking that means he has a high speed modem from a internet service provider. Ok, I would suggest that you remove the power cord, remove the battery, turn the laptop over and find the cover that houses the wireless modem and remove the antennas (black and white cables) from the wireless card, then remove the wireless card from the slot. Now press and hold the power button for 30 seconds, then put everything back together and reboot.

How do I find out if there is a pre-installed software for the in-built webcam?


If you don't see anything in the programs file like Arcsoft webcam or something with webcam in the name chances are it don't but if you are wanting to use it like for yahoo or something that uses a web cam it will work with their software just allow it to have access to your cam the drivers should have come with the computer installled already to run it with other programs if not you can go to the manufacturers webpage find your computer driver downloads and download what you need there.

I cant install my sound driver.. conexant just says not reconized and the other one just dissapear mid-installed


Usually, this means it's not even recognizing that it's on board. Easiest thing i can tell you is go to control panel - system - device drivers - go down to sound, modem, and delete the entries. Then re-start your system. See if windows finds the hardware. If it does, then install using your cd. Don't let windows install it. Just close those boxes. Many sound issues are modem related. Most modems require the sound card and that's usually the issue.

Usually the recondition, or refurbished product from Dell have been retested to ensure they meet all original factory specifications. I don't understand why your modem and cd rom drive don't work. How long had you purchased it? When you said you can't get internal modem to turn on, you meant it not working?
There are only two things could happen to each of them (modem and cd rom drive) For Modem: please check it through device manager, and modem to see if it has red x or yellow question mark, or says unknown device, if you do have one of these, you need to install correct driver. Please check your Dell service tag number (it is on white sticker on back of laptop), and go to dell.com, support, and select driver and downloads, key in your service tag number, and download the modem driver to install. If it still doesn't work, then the physical internal modem is the faulty one. For your CD rom drive, it should work with just standard driver preloaded by the OS, you don't need to install driver for. It is either dirty, needs to be cleaned by the CD room cleaner disc, or it is bad. You can try to reseat by trying to take whole thing out and insert it back in. If you have Dell diagnostic cd (usually comes with your laptop when ordered) to run hardware diagnostic to find out the faulty one.
This is the common issue with refurbished laptops (most common issue is with keyboard). When buying refurbished one, you have more chances to have some part issues. I suggest to reinstall modem driver to see if it works, and try to clean cd rom driver and reseat it, and hope for the best. Let me know the status Thanks

I don't know which specific driver you are looking for .. but I'm assuming internal modem driver of 56K so here's the link

MODEM CONNECTION NOT FOUND


click start control panel admistrive tools,computer management,device manager scroll down network adapters + expand Ethernet driver right click you will have options to update driver,disable,uninstall or select properties general you will have the options to troubleshoot or to update driver,rollback or uninstall
a yellow? question mark means you need to install/update driver right click to install driver
also you might check
make sure your modem/routers settings are correct ie:password user name,firewall settings to allow your internet to connect also test the lead/s whether usb or ethernet you might check your modem first to make sure that you are getting a connection
last resort ring your ISP internet sevice provider get them to check your modem for internet access online

Hello!

I don´t know so much from you about this problem, but I think that is trouble with integrated modem.
First try in bios, see if modem disabled, just enable modem, and you only need drivers.
If modem enabled in bios, try to do new system.
If you have still trouble, modem is problem.

you have a driver problem .
all computer parts have a driver system which helps to run .Depending on the health of your pc , which needs to be cleaned up on regular basis ( delete temp. memory , defrag ) drivers needs to be updated to keep them running . Upgrade your drivers and your problem will dissapear .

Device Manager yalow spot on AR5007EG Wireless Network Adapter


The yellow "bangs" which show up in device manager indicate that a device driver has not been installled for these particular devices. You can either install the device driver for the particular devices or, if your computer is connected to the internet, you can right click on the device and choose Update Device Driver.
