1. Unplug washer.
2. Remove the outer portion of the door bellow. This is the gray rubber boot around the door. Feel around the edge of the door bellow where it attaches to the front of the washer. You will find a wire retaining hoop in the seam between the rubber and the front case. Follow this wire hoop to the bottom of the door bellow and you will find a tension spring. Carefully, stretch this spring apart and remove the wire hoop.
3. Pull the rubber bellow from the door facing on the front of the washer being careful not to rip or tear it. Once removed, fold the rubber backwards inside the drum so you can access behind the front panel. DO NOT remove the rubber bellow from the wash tub.
4. The door latch assembly is located behind the front panel of the washer on the right hand side. Locate and remove the three screws on the washer front that hold the door latch assembly in place. The whole assembly should come free from the washer front and be held by a plastic mounting bracket and several wire connectors.
5. Carefully remove the latch assembly from the plastic mounting bracket BEFORE attempting to unplug any wires. It makes it much easier to access if you do.
6. Unplug the wire connectors using care not to break any of the wires. You may want to write them down, but I believe they will only plug into their respective slots.
7. Remove the old door latch and install the new one in the reverse order of the steps I just presented to you. Plug the wires back in first, then place the whole assembly back into the plastic mounting bracket, and then reattach to the front of the washer.
8. Now, when you get the reinstalling the rubber door boot, you may want to get the assistance of a second pair of hands as it can be difficult sometimes to manipulate the wire retainer back into place. Carefully reattach the rubber bellow to the door facing on the front of the washer first.
9. Starting at the top of the door bellow at the 12 o'clock position begin inserting the wire hoop back into the groove. Work your way around with both hands to the 4 and 8 o'clock positions. (This is where you could use those second pair of hands). While holding a slight downward tension on the wire hoop to keep it in place, pull the tension spring apart enough to snap the remaining part of the hoop into place at the bottom. Once you've completed these steps make sure the door closes and latches properly. NEVER slam a door with an electronic latch. They can break easily.

Now plug the washer back in and test operate. NOTE: You can run diagnostics on these washers by referring to the tech sheet provided by the manufacturer. The tech sheet is located behind the lower panel under the door, or along the interior cabinet walls. Included, are instructions on how to run diagnostics and troubleshooting tips associated with the list of fault codes. It is recommended that this tech sheet remain inside the washer to prevent it from being lost.

Agitator does not rotate during washing , but rotates during spin dry

Is the agitator a back and forth or does it only agitate in one direction. While it is spinning if the agitation mechanism is broken the agitator will spin with the speed of the bowl and just freewheel. you need to look to see if it is a belt driven agitator, if it is buy a belt for your model number of your washer and find someone handy to fit it if you cant yourself. If it is mechanical agitator chances of fixing it yourself are slim. Weigh up the cost of parts and labor as well as call out fee for the repair man and check if its easier and cheaper to just get a new washer.

I have an HE3t and can't get the door to open. I have tried rewashing the load that is in there, and I have set and unset the lock. What's going on?

Try unplugging the washer for 10 minutes, plugging it back in and test to see if the door will unlock. If it doesn't then you have a bad door lock mechanism or contol board or both. You usually can manually unlock the door by removing the bottom front panel, with the washer unplugged, and reaching up into the door lock mechanism. There is a tab or ring on the bottom that you pull to release the door. Open the door and look for broken plastic pieces on the door strike or in the latch on the mechanism. Usually you won't see anything. If no broken pieces then remove the top panel, washer unplugged, and find the ccu. This is the main control board located in the back center of the machine. Check for loose connections at the ccu and for broken wires. Jiggle and push the wiring connectors into the ccu to make sure they are tight. Plug washer in and test to see if it started working. We have had a lot of repairs with this ccu unit as the relays on the board have a bad weld that gives an intermittent connection, causing this repair. If the washer works by plugging these connectors in tight then put it back together and use it. If it fails again then replace the ccu. In some instances the door lock mechanism can be bad. Unfortunately there is no good test for this. To replace the lock mechanism, you remove the top panel,(washer unplugged). Open the door, remove the three screws that hold the lock mechanism to the cabinet, unplug the 3 to 4 wiring plugs from the lock mechanism and install the new assembly. Door won't open at end of cycle

Thank You for contacting
The most common cause of this problem is
1. A faulty or broken door catch.
2. A faulty interlock. This is the part that the door closes in to.
also worth checking the spring inside the door lock mechanism attatched to the door, as these can become dislodged.
To open the door you will either require an engineer as the repair necesitates the removal of the lid. The engineer will ensure the machine is disconnected from mains of course. He will double check power is off before reaching down inside the machine to press over the door latch, which is just visible as a white pointed object, poking through the door mechanism. The engineer will push it towards the door seal.
Some older models have other devices that will prevent machine opening if it has not pumped out fully, or mechanical devices that check for drum rotation that can be knocked during the spin. Could really do with age and model No. of machine.

Have a nice day.

Machine is level, moving person dropped machine and now it thrash's violent during spin cycle Machine works still works well in all other functions What could have broken during move Thank you Karen

There are at least 3 suspension points around the outside of the outer drum that hold up the entire mechanism. They each have a suspension spring plus some form of motion damper. One or more may have been bent, broken, or displaced. It should be up to the moving person(s)/(company) to repair it. If a friend did the moving, I guess you are on your own. If you can open the top or remove a back panel, maybe you can see what is wrong and fix it yourself. Once you can see the mechanism, shake the internals back and forth--the whole assembly should move side to side in different directions, yet with increased friction. If one point doesn't seem free, look at it carefully.

Lg washing machine wm-1460fhd door locked wont open

We have a WM-1480FHD, with the door stuck shut. It appears the door release mechanism in the actual door has broken, so when you pull the lver part, the catch is not released. You need to get a very flat knife, insert between the door and the front of the machine, right in the middle behind the release handle and push the hook towards the right side of the machine.Once open, you can check the release mechanism in the actual door. Ours is broken, so need to sort out how to repair/replace it next!

We have the Ariston Margherita front loader washing machine and cannot get the door open

if the machine is full of water pump blocked or broken if machine empty needs new door interlock or pressure switch blocked or broken

FIRST switch off and unplug.

Pull machine out and remove lid by undoing self tapping screws at the top back. May have to slide lid back a bit to lift off.

Internal catch mechanism will be reachable from top for manual release. You may need someone to push door inwards while you release catch.

Good luck

You could have a problem with the door interlocking mechanism. Try closing the door with a little bit of force or hit the door handle once you have closed the door. If the machine starts, let the repair tech know to bring a door interlock with him.
