Question about Toshiba Sattelite A105-S2051 Notebook
I turn on the power...the toshiba logo comes on, goes to windows xp logo and then repeats over and over. I've tried safe mode, etc..same results...
Boot to the WIndows XP CD, and at the first prompt, press R to enter Recovery Console. Once at the C: prompt, type CHKDSK /R and let the run, once finished, reboot and see if the system will boot.
If it still is in a reboot loop, or if CHKDSK reports unrecoverable errors, then you may have a hdd problem, run HDD diagnostics and see if you get a failure code.
If diags pass, try repairing the installation with the XP CD (Odds are fair to poor at fixing issue) if that fails try a clean install of XP (Sometimes that is the only resolution)
If the HDD fails diags or if all the above fails, replace the hard drive
