SOURCE: Drum filled with water

put on drain cycle and see if water drains.
or
put drain hose down at floor level into a tray
or
crack filter open and drain into a tray
if machine not draining, you may find filter blocked or a foreign object in the pump impellor

SOURCE: my samsung top loader washing machine sw65v9w won't stop filling with water

If the water stops when you stop the cycle, then the pressure sensor is at fault. If you need to turn the water supply off to stop it, then the water inlet valve is at fault.

My washing drained pump burned out. So i replaced it cleande the drum and refitted it all. The problem i have now is my waching machine turnes on and the pump runs as soon as the waching machine is turned...

If you can actually hear the pump running (as in not just hose too low and water draining out), I'd say that the main PCB is shot.
It was probably shot before you replaced the pump (pump burned out from constant running).
These models don't have an overflow as far as I know, unless it is pressure switch based (a possible issue if you did something odd cleaning the drum) remove and reseat pressure switch hose just to be sure.

Fabric softener premature release

In my case it was simply a matter of cleaning the nozzles that spray the water into the MAIN DETERGENT compartment. Turns our that when the washer was filling up, some nozzles were partially clogged and were directing water to the side where the softener compartment was, causing the fluid level to rise and therefore releasing the softener early. The washer was NOT spraying water in the softener side, what happens is that the dispenser tray is configured in a way that when the fluid reaches a certain max level in the softener/bleach trays, it completely drains. A way to test for this problem would be to completely dry the softener tray and start the wash cycle like you normally would (including detergent), only without adding any softener to the tray and see if after filling there is any water in the softener tray, this would prove that the water is coming from the other side.

Quite old admiral mega 22 plus topload washer. the machine did not agitate after filling up. I tried various points on the 3 cycle types and it did not spin either. My son tried moving the agitator and...

Yes sounds like you have now disturbed the seal and will need a new one, remove the agitator and inner drum to get at the seals, to remove the agitator pull off the softner cap and remove bolt form down inside.
To remove the inner drum, the top part of the washer needs to be hinged back to gain access, to do this insert a flat balde 4" from each side at the seam with the front panel to release the clips, lid will now hinge back to give access to the drums, on the outer dum there are clips all the way round to remove the top section of the outer drum release these. remove the bolts under agitator to remove the inner drum. you should have access to the seals but it has been a while.
Reason for not agitating in first place is probably the water level switch at the rear of the drum with a small 8mm hose connecting it to the drum.
