Question about Canon iP3500 Photo Printer

1 Answer

Printer error requests that a full ink tank is empty.

Every time I try to print an error appears that says: ''An ink tank error has occurred. Please replace the ink tank on which the ink lamp is off '' The ink tank is actually full. I remove it and put it back the light comes on but then when I try to print, the error reappears. Please help.

You can try cleaning the electrical contacts in the printer and on the cartridge with isopropyl alcohol followed by water to see if that fixes it. Then you can try removing all your cartridges, turning the printer off, unplugging it, waiting a few minutes, plugging it back in, turning it on, and waiting for the printer to recognize there are no cartridges installed before you reinstall the cartridges. Otherwise you may have damaged the chip on the cartridge with static electricity when installing it. If this is a new cartridge I would return it to the store you purchased it from and ask for a replacement.
