First of all check the system date of your computer. make sure the time and the time zone is correct. Also locate the database file and save it on a external drive/media. Then uninstall and reinstall the application and copy the database file to the computer and then check if you can open.

Thanks

You need to use software and a data cable, to connect the unit to a computer and do a backup on computer.

Afterward you will need to reinstall software on the PDA again.

If the handheld is not connecting to computer anymore, not even via USB, the safest thing to do is taking it to a repair centre, so that they can get data out and install data on a different computer.

Any home made attempt to recover or reinstall teh system can endanger the data, better to go to a repair shop, and have data transferred into a different palm.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

You probably need hard reset because there is most likely a corrupted program that is messing it up. I've gone through over ten different times where I had to hard reset. Get used to it.

Old computer crashed palm V can not bring datebook address book back on new computer

Do you have a backup program and have you used it now and then?

If you don't have a 3rd party backup program over hotsync, your data is gone.

Palm m100 hotsync problem

A hard reset will most likely work, but make sure to back up using a third party application.

Treo 755p Getting Stuck During HotSync

If you have another computer you could try installing the software on that to see if the Treo will sync.
This would determine if it's a computer problem or if it's your Treo.

When you unchecked the datebook to sync after uninstall/reinstalling, was it able to sync then?

I have had other palms get hung up to a certain point during the sync, but uninstalled the program or disabled it from syncing like you tried and it usually works.

Retreiving information off barely-functioning IIIx

Sorry to hear about your trusty little workhorse dying, but all is not lost, meaning your data. You'll just need to get a replacement sync cable that can somehow replace the old RS232 connection. You should be able to use the same cable that connects to the m100 without spending the extra money to buy the old Palm MacPac. Once you've got your data retrieved your new device (I assume you're addicted like the rest of us) should offer you more options. Otherwise you may want to consider getting a USB or Firewire expansion card.

Hot sync does not complete!

Something similar happened to me due to incorrect periodic entries in the Datebook, try disabling all elements in the Hot Sync, try it, and if it works, then add them one by one until you find the offending one, then focus on clearing that DB.
(Actually i simply stopped synching Datebook since i didn't wanted to loose all the history of appointments i have).

Keyboard data entry

Sounds like a classic problem for a driver/firmware update. get an update here before trying anything else- http://www.palm.com/us/support/downloads/tungstenc/tungstenc_update_30.html If it still doesn't solve it you might need to format it and reinstall everything from scratch. Good luck

Sync fails with "too many open databases"

This is what I did to fix that error:

Hard-reset your Palm to erase all data (that usually involves pushing the small "reset" button on the back, then pressing the "power on" button until the device boots, and then pressing "up" to confirm the hard-reset)

After that, sync your palm. The sync software will ask if you want to use your existing profile or create a new one. Create a new one. Then the program will offer to sync your Outlook profile with your Palm. Click on "ok", and a message asking you to accept to sync your Outlook data with more than one profile will pop-up. Click on OK, again... and that's it!
