My phone gives a gud output for ring tones but not for mp3 songs

it depends on your mp3 songs, the lower file for a single song meaning low quality sound, the higher file for a song, like 4MB decent enough for good quality sound. thanks

The ring tone is defaulting to generic Nokia tone when I have set it to an mp3 song that is loaded on the phone. The songs play correctly in the music player, but the phone won't ring with the set tone.

Your MP3 file may be too long in duration (try cutting it down to less than 10 seconds and try again), the file name may be too long (try renaming it on the desktop as ringmp3.mp3 and transfer to phone), or the MP3 may be recorded in a bit rate that is too high for the phone to support as a ringtone (transcode again to a lower bitrate).

Nokia 6600 mp3 format not supported

No no Sir, you can't use Mp3 format as a ringtone in Nokia 6600, the format you were using before was WAV, you just need to convert all your Mp3 tones to WAV using this free tool.
Transfer the Converted WAV tones in your Cell and Enjoy.

Waqar.

If you want to add more songs in less memory, then compress the song with a software "MP3 to Ring tone maker' or 'Joy Ring tone maker'

MP3 ringing tones for my omnia

Hi!

Copy your mp3 files into this folder:
My Documents\My ringtones and you can use them for ringtones.

Or using a registry editor software (SKTools,  ect.)
Go to: HKEY_Current_User\ControlPanel\SoundCategories\Ring\Directory and change the value of this key to \My Storage\ or \Storage Card\

Apply mp3 songs as ring tone

I had to edit some of my songs on my PC to make them shorter to be applied as a ringtone. I made them about 20-30 seconds long so they would work. WHen I put entire songs on the phone it wouldn't work.
