Printing faint on left hand side of page

Printer started printing too faint on left hand side of page. Put new ink cartridge in. Still having the same problem. Thank you.

    I have no solution yet but a bit of information from the Samsung support line. My problem started when I replaced the black toner cartridge. I replaced it a second time thinking I had a faulty cartridge. The faint printing on the left hand side persisted.

    On January 6th, 2009, Samsung's support tech admitted that this is a common problem that was occasionally fixed by a firmware upgrade available on their site. I installed the upgrade but it did not fix the problem.
    The technician (Greg) asked me to send him an email with the ticket number, serial number, proof of purchase etc, which I did on January 7th. he indicated that a hardware fix (parts or printer replacement) was available and that he/they would follow-up. They never did.

    I am writing this as I am waiting (20minutes now) on their support line after being transferred to "someone who knew about printers". My image of the Samsung brand was very positive... It is now going down rapidly as I wait.

    I have the same problem. Also started grinding noise on paper transport.
    Started a few days outside of 3 months toner cartridge & toner/drum unit warranty.
    Took to Office works who forwared to service agent. They told me that the black toner container was faulty and the the drum unit ($218) was also faulty. Charged me $66 for the pleasure.
    I decided to get it back and try a new black toner.
    But before this I want to try cleaning the drum. Does anyone know if this can be done. One web site mentioned a soft cloth

    Same problem. Did the firmware upgrade.....no help. Changed the altitude setting and the black got even lighter. I believe that if it's not a software issue, then the engineers who designed the imaging unit placed the black developer roller too low, and almost tangent, to the drum. There seems to be too great a cantilevered travel distance for the black roller and with gravity working against it function. Parts wear out over time. This was either deliberate or a foolish over-site.

    Got my printer back and tried a new black toner. Light printing solve but grinding noise remains.

    Same problem. I already cleaned the drum according to the manuals, tried a new cartridge. But still no solution.

I had a similar problem, which I fixed by carefully wiping the drum with a soft tissue.

My CLP-350 Samsung printer only prints black ink on half the page! While the other colours all print perfectly, the black ink prints strong and clear on the right side of the page but as you approach the...


Here is my solution, hope it will solve your problem.

From your post, I believe your CLP-350N printer has enough black toner. The black cartridge is on the far right side of the printer, so the black toner is harder to go to left side of the roller than right side. Everytime we start the printer, it will move some toner of each color to the roller before it shows ready to print.

Because we always use B&W printing when we start the printer, but less Color printing. The result is there are always enough toner on the 3 color rollers, but the black toner is lean on the black roller. When this gets worse, the left side of the black roller may hardly get any toner at all -- so it only print black on the right side fo paper.

Step by step solution
(CAUTION: Never loss balance while tilting printer! You may drop and damage your printer! Hold the printer firmly all the time! Ask someone to help you if needed!)

Here, front of the printer is where you can access the cartridge, back of the printer is where you connect the power cord and USB cable, left is your left, right is your right.

1.Lift the front to keep the printer tilt to its back at about 45 degree
2.Power on printer while it's tilted back, wait untill green light is on
3.Open the front door, red light will be on, then close the door, printer will start up again,wait untill green light is on
4.Repeat step 3 once again, then put the printer back to level position
5.Lift the right to keep the printer tilt to its left at about 45 degree
6.Open the front door, red light will be on, then close the door, printer will start up again, wait untill green light is on
7.Repeat step 6 once again, then put the printer back to level position
8.Print some test page to see if there is any improvement of black print quality.(Hold the printer button for 3-5 seconds, it will print the test page.)

You may try several times and print several pages each time before you finally cure the problem.

Lex 5150 - not printing black well


what you may have to do is clean the rollers, good place to clean is where you insert the cartridges, open the lid so the machine thinks your going to repalce the ink, cut the power from the mains, now you can proceed to to clean the inside, remove both in cartradges and clean where they instert, toilet roll or kitchen roll will do because they soak up the ink, then, and be very gentle, slide the mechanism to the left hand side so you can clean underneath, after cleaning power the printer up so that it still thinks you are changing the ink, the cartridge housing should be where you can access them so you can the put the ink back in, then you need to use the the lexmark software to re-align the cartridges and also print a test page, keep on doing this until the inkjets are performing properly

If the pages printed from the printer directly comes out OK then you may need to update the driver for the printer. If the pages printed directly from the printer menu have the same problem then contact Lexmark again explaining everything you've done. If the person is still not helpful ask to speak with someone who is more able to assist you. Hopefully still under warranty.

Hp 2420 printing light on left side of page


take out cartridge and look at roller on bottom of printer, clean with clean cloth and try, also there is a slit ( or hole on the inside ( put your hand inside and try to touch the top of printer there is a hole there where the images go to the laser clean with clean lint free cloth.
