Excel Charts in PPT 2003 and 2007 not working correctly
I have loaded the Office 2007 beta but elected to keep the 2003 versions. I
just noticed that when I open a PPT (created previously with PPT 2003) with
excel charts in PPT 2003 and adjust a number, I lose the scale and get a
meaningless scale such as "-336" repeated for the whole scale. Also numbers
copied from Excel 2003 that are formatted with commas such as "2,023,025" are
only recognised as text.
Sometimes when I try to edit the numbers by doubleclicking on the Chart it
opens PPT 2007 and then I lose the Chart
If I open the PPT presentation in PPT 2007 I start having formatting
problems with the tables.
Has anyone else had similar problems with Excel charts in PPT 2003 or 2007
after installing the beta. I have XP Pro SP2 and have replicated the problem
on a Sony VAIO and a Fujitsu P1510.
ihave just tried opening excel 2003 charts in excel 2007 the data is there but alll the chart sheets are blank

Hi, regardless of how much we pay for Microsoft Office one or the other day it will crash and won't work as expected. I have a great solution for this, now i have uninstalled Microsoft Office and downloaded Libreoffice!!!! It's free to download and distribute to your friends. It can open all types of Microsoft Office files like Word, Excel, Power Point...etc. It can also save them with Microsoft Office file format as .doc, .xls, pptx...etc. Just Google as Libreoffice to get the download link.
If you still need Microsoft Office, then for the problem you mentioned, re-installing Microsoft Office will resolve the issue.
Compatibility mode helps users collaborate with those using previous versions of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. A file created in previous versions of Office, such as .doc, .xls, and .ppt, are fully functional in compatibility mode in the 2007 Office system. Compatibility mode ensures that the 2007 Office system can open and save files in from previous versions of Office without converting them to the new file formats in the 2007 Office system.
Just select "save-as" and save the file in 2007 format.....And when you will open the newly saved file...It won't show "Compatibility mode".
most of the times computer viruses can cause such problems, try scanning you pc for viruses. if you store you files in bad external memory like, flash drives etc these can also be the problem. some times these viruses corrupt the programs so if try uninstalling and re installing the programs NB your files saved on your system will not be lost
Be sure the Excel format/version you are uploading is what's expected (2003,2007, etc.). Further, your naming convention of the file may not be valid. See your classes uploading specifications and be sure you're file is up to par!
-close the file or presentation then reopen it
-open the corrupted presentation then click save as on File menu
-in the save as , pls type list, click the ff format (*ppt)
-in the file name box, type the file name you want to use, then click ok
-close and reopen the presentation
