Flash player 10.0.12.36 is installed but not detected by appln

I am using Windows XP SP2 in my PC. I am also using Mozilla Firefox browser. When I open a specific website (on photography), it says " This content requires flash" and further says "To view this content, you need the latest version of Macromedia Flash Player" and directs me to Adobe site of the already installed flash player. Now what do I do?

The problem seems to be conflict in the .dll file "NPSWF32.dll" and it's association with the Windows Registry. The registry key of the flash player for Mozilla Firefox is damaged/corrupted. So you have to uninstall Flash Player: (Follow both the steps.)
Step-1: First uninstall through ADD/REMOVE Programs from controls panel.
Step-2: Then download the Adobe Flash Player uninstaller from here. Now close both Firefox and Internet Explorer. Then run the uninstaller tool. After uninstalling, restart your PC. Now open the firefox and go to http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/ to install the latest version flash player.
Remember: Whenever you are installing or uninstalling flash player you must log on to windows as Administrator to perform and troubleshoot this type of issue.

This is a common problem with Firefox and Flash. I would go to firefox.com and download the latest version of the program. Then go to adobe.com and get the latest Flash version (if you have already deleted the installer from your system).

When they're finished, go to your Control Panel and click Add/Remove Programs. Remove all Firefox and Flash entries. Restart the computer and install the fresh copies of Firefox and Flash.

Let me know if you have any more questions or troubles. I'll monitor this thread.

I cannot download nor install successfully the latest adobe flash player on my desktop. I have Microsoft XP. please help.

If you're downloading via Mozilla Firefox then installing it while that browser open, the flash cannot be successfully installed, an error will appear suggesting that you need to close all software or browsers from running so that the flash will be installed properly.

I'm running Windows XP. Using IE8, the youtube videos won't play. There is no warning or anything, just the video is black and there is no play button. On Google chrome, there is no problem with playing...

Well Sunkengarden, the videos you are watching on YouTube or any such websites are the Flash Player Applications. That means, the Browser on which you are trying watch the videos, needs Flash Player Application to be installed on your computer. Such traditionally most widely used flash players are Adobe Flash Player and Microsoft Silverlight.
While you are using Google Chrome, there is no problem just because of Google Chrome already have in-built flash player within it. But the problem remains for IE or other Browsers.
Different Web-Browsers use different types of Adobe Flash Players (IE type or Non-IE type). So, for best results, I recommend you to install both the IE and Non-IE Adobe Flash Players on your computer to have all the browsers play the videos without any problem.
Download the Flash Players by clicking on the following links:
Hope this helps,

I install Adobe flash player 10.2. And now I can't see any videos. AI hove windows XP SP2

One of the Chrome browser versions recently had the problem of displaying videos (even with the stable release version), therefore to use Chrome - wait for updates or install Beta or Dev versions from here: http://www.chromium.org/getting-involved/dev-channel or use other browsers: Firefox, Safari, Internet Explorer, etc.

Cannot install adobe flash player

(1) download flash for firefox, but DONT INSTALL YET! (2) right-click firefox, select PROPERTIES. (3) click on COMPATABILITY tab. (4) select the RUN PROGRAM IN WINDOWS XP SP2 MODE. (5) click APPLY. (6) click CLOSE. (7) do the EXACT SAME for the FLASH PLAYER file you just downloaded. (8) now right click the FLASH PLAYER INSTALLER and click RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR. (9) goto the firefox shortcut and right click and select OPEN FILE LOCATION. (10) right click that file and look for the RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR, IF it is there then click it and run direfox, if not select OPEN FILE LOCATION AGAIN. (11) then right click it and RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR.
NOW GO TO YOUR FAVORITE FLASH SITE, eg http://www.pogo.com or whatever, and you'll see that you can have your favorite browser AND flash, without having to run INTERNET EXPLOrER.

Internet disconnects on using mozilla, safari, google chrome except internet explorer

This solution depends on how long ago you installed all 3 Browsers on your system.
I'm assuming you're using a Windows PC running Windows XP or Windows Vista

1- First, you want to uninstall Safari and Google Chrome (one at a time) from your PC. These two browsers are new to PC's and are not fully debugged/tested yet.
2- after uninstalling both, restart your computer 1 time.
3- After starting up again, start Firefox and try to surf to a website you haven't tried before on it.
4- If unsuccessful, check which version of Firefox you're using. If it is older than version 3.01, use Internet explorer to go to their website and download the new version.
5- uninstall the old version of firefox first, before installing the new version (always follow this rule for all future program installations, unless otherwise stated in the instructions for the program)
6- Once you have the new version of Firefox installed, run it and check for internet connectivity.
7- Firefox may ask to get settings from Internet Explorer at some point, say yes.

Let us know how it goes and rate us. :)

Internet explorer facing error message of send to microsoft

try downloading and installing this update from microsoft:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=2996b9b6-03ff-4636-861a-46b3eac7a305&displaylang=en

Afterwards, reboot, and try your browser; if it still does the same thing (doesnt matter if it is firefox or IE) write back and we can go thru your anti-virus and anti-spyware programs.
Another note...Firefox 3 is available from Mozilla, here is that link:

also, have you checked for critical updates for XP from Microsoft?
