I am trying to get an Intertel IP phone to work with a Vodafone Netgear router. Our IT guys have said that it a router problem - I have been on the phone to Vodafone who have checked my settings and say that nothing is blocking it. The IP address in the computer is the same as the one I have programmed into the phone. Any ideas - please?

IP address conflict occurs when two or more computers on the same LAN network end up with the same IP address. When this occurs, both computers end up not being able to connect to network. There are a few ways in which this problem can be fixed. If it is Static IP request your ISP for a change of IP.If it is a Dynamic IP you can try resetting your modem by switching ON and OFF the modem or open the command prompt and type "ipconfig /release," which dumps the automatic address it had, and then "ipconfig /renew," which gets a new address. To check for the change in IP you can visit http://www.ip-details.com which gives your public IP when you visit the site. Internet routers have a certain IP address. Usually written on the sticker on the under side.
Open your web browser and write the IP number in the address line. It should open the inner router menu.
If it asks you for a username and password - it's usually admin - admin.
After that it's quite straight forwards, brows the menu and find SSID - thats the router's name.
I wouldnt recommend changing the username and password, just protect it with your own password and change the network name.
The voicemail passcode. It's a 5215. I read the manual that says you can reset passwords by putting the phone's IP address into your web browser, but that just gives me "page cannot be displayed". Don't know what to do next.
