Question about 3Com OfficeConnect Wireless Router
Hi, I'm assuming you have a 3Com router, start internet
explorer (blue e) in the address bar type 192.168.1.1 and press enter
the new screen, type in the password to enter the set jup (as it
says, admin is the default) click setup wizard, put a dot in pppoa
(I'm assuming you're in the UK) click next, put in your user
name and password, vpi/vcn 0 and 38 and encapsulation VC MUX,
click next put channel to 11, choose an ssid (i leave mine at 3Com),
click next, check all the data is correct then click on apply. Now to
set up the encryption start internet explorer (blue e) in the address
bar type 192.168.1.1 and press enter in the new screen, type in the
password to enter the set jup (as it says, admin is the default)
click wireless settings on the left hand side of the screen, click
setup wizard select wpa-psk from the drop down box where it says
pre-shared key, type in a MEMORABLE password and then click apply.
Now You will lose your wireless signal. Panic ye not! Click on the
smatt TV in the lower right hand side of the screen (this is called
the sys-tray) You will now see that the wireless icon which looks a
bit like a telly with 3 yellow arcs coming out of it's right hand
side has a red cross on it. Click it once, click view wireless
networks and then on the new screen click refresh network list. You
will after a few seconds see your network -click on it and then on
connect. A new box will come up asking you for the network key aka
password. enter the memorable password you have just forgotten in the
upper and lower boxes and press enter. Et voila! you now have an
encrypted wireless network and you can only get onto it if you know
the memorable password!

Call your ISP and ask them to walk you through it. I use my ISP tech support for everything. I use Clear wireless internet (www.clear.com/?utm_source=bc) out of Portland and I pay $50 a month for their “Unlimited” package so I figure – hey – I should get my moneys worth in both downloads and support!

best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
