E1532 signifies # events that have occurred , not an error...you probably have something like P0198/E1534...go into setup until delete images NO;press select;up down arrows to get flashing YES;select..then scroll to delete events NO;press select up or down, select.
Get a card reader (they don't cost much) and download your pics to your computer. Then, put the card back in the camera, go into the menu and scroll to "format" and follow the on-screen instructions. This will erase and optimize your card. My advice, don't leave your pictures on the card for very long...get in the habit of downloading on a regular basis and format the card regularly.
This question comes up several times a day here in the camera section at Fixya. But please note, it's very hard to troubleshoot individual software problems online, and it likely is a software issue. But why put up with the headaches of bad software in the first place?
Please don't take this as a sales pitch as it's not, but please see the following blog article, as it describes the use of an inexpensive card reader as a much easier, faster, and less error prone way to download your photos. In fact there are several important reasons discussed in the article for using a card reader vice downloading from the camera. USB Card readers are also very inexpensive these day, with cost virtually not an issue: http://camerarepair.blogspot.com/2009/01/how-do-i-download-photos-or-pictures.html
It's not hard... I had the same problem, but I found this solution on the internet and it worked. First turn on the camera and press the play button.
You are now viewing your picture with the histogram.
Use the same joystick looking kind of button that you use to scroll left and right through the pictures, but instead of going left and right, go UP OR DOWN. That scrolls through the different display settings.
Most buttons on a camera are a simple raised rubber pad over a printed circuit board. The button gets pressed, a concuctive material on the bottom of the rubber pad puts a short across a printed pad. If the camera senses a short across the down button, it will ignore all other buttons. You need to take the back off the camera and the rubber button pad will probably be right in the back, clean the contact with an alcohol Qtip and you should be OK.
Its possible that there may be an error on the camera try to reset the camera by
1. Turn the mode lever to the camera or play button
2. Press and hold the MENU button for more than 5 seconds.
3, The message "reset settings to default?" appears
4. Use teh arrow buttons to selelct ok. then press the SET button.
5. It should then reset the camera.
AFter doing that and the problem is still there. Format the memory card using the camera.
I hope this has answered your question sufficiently. If you have more questions please post a reply and i would be happy to assist. Thanks.
