With a new hard drive , ti will not have an operating system installed
turn thr computer on and hold down the delete button until the bios screen comes up
click on the boot tab and set boot priority to first device c
put the cd in the cd drive
switch off the computer and then restart
the boot will now read the cd and reinstall the operating system

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

It is looking for a boot device, depending on how you have your boot settings in the Bios configured, i would guess that it is looking for a network boot not being able to find another boot device.
This usually points to hard drive failure, to check this:

SOURCE: Hi my LT Aspire 5536G
The message you are getting is the laptop telling you it cannot find a boot device. The Broadcom message is the last option in the boot sequence (network boot).
I'm not sure what OS you are using, so the following is loosely based on a standard recovery, PLEASE don't just award a 1 thumb if this does not solve the issue, rather don't leave feedback.
First of all: Boot and press F2 or F10 or del to access the Bios, see that the hard drive is actually seen in the bios, if it is NOT, please repost, this points to HDD failure
Secondly, if it is, in the Bios, set the 1st boot device to DVD Rom. Insert the Windows Disc and IF using XP, wait until it finds the old OS and do a recovery. IF using Vista or Windows 7, its more or less the same, run a repair and if you get the OS back up and running, download a comand line virus scanner such as DRWEB Cure it and run a thorough scan for viruses on the hard drive.
Before condemning the hard drive, try removing it and re-inserting it, see if the bios recognises it.
I'd also advise downloading a disc checking utility to make sure the hard drive is still workable

This error is a result of your computer not finding the operating system. This is usually the case when the hard drive has failed. You will need to take the computer to a technician to replace the hard drive and have windows reinstalled.
