Question about Toshiba Tecra S2 Notebook
Hello.I'm a young Cameroonian student.
I have a problem whith my portable computer. There's someone who stole my computer and by the help of the police i find it but now the access to the hard drive is locked by a password .Please Help meby telling me how to fix this problem please.
Thank you in advance
Hi Someone has set the hard disk password in the BIOS. This stops the hard disk from being accessed until the password is sent to it. The hard disk itself is now locked - you cannot put it in another system - it will just not work until it receives the correct password. I am sorry but unless you know the password there is no way to access the data on the hard disk. You would have to send it to a data recovery firm or possibly return it to the disk manufacturer but contact them first as they will probably destroy all the data on the hard disk. Sorry - but you will have to buy new hard disk and reset the CMOS before you fit the new one and remove all BIOS passwords.
