SOURCE: Bunn coffee maker leaks water

There are 3 seals in your unit that could cause your problem. there is a silicon seal right under the pour-in tray, and two on the top of the tank. one of those is for the thermostat, the other is for the sprayhead tube. any of these could leak, causing water to come out the bottom of the brewer. One other thing that can cause this is a scale buildup between the pour-in tray and the tank.

SOURCE: water leaks out from underneath coffee maker

Well they don;t give these away for sure. Lets see if we can help you out. ? are you over filling it.This happened to me because I was reading the fill line wrong. {got new glasses} . If not may be you could try makeing less. But if only 1/2 cup comes out and no more, that wouldent indacate a leak in the tank, if there was it would all leak. Try backing off on the coffie and water, and see if it still leaks. if it does get back to me. DFD

Why did the coffee maker leak bad and now just quit wont gety hot

You seem to be saying the unit "leaked: really badly getting water all over; and now the hot plate will not heat up. Such "leaks" are usually caused when the basket is not pushed in correctly so that the water cutoff switch remains closed when it should be open. (The water cutoff valve is what allows you to remove the pot/carafe in order to pour a quick cup even while the coffee is still drip brewing.) If that cutoff vvalve remains closed for more than a minute or so, or less, water will overlow the basket because with its path out the bottom and into the pot is blocked' and it has not place else to go but over the top of the filter basket holder. Now, when such an overlfow (not leak) happens, there is the hot plate right below into which the overflow flows down. As long at it remains wet it will be short circuited and not heat up. So let stand and/or blow or hairdryer heat to remove all water (be sure to unplug coffee maker to to that). Now, once everything including the hot plate are dry, the coffee maker will either work fine, or will need to be replaced.

Giro plus - red light flashes rapidly, tried priming with no success. Anyone have any answers?

Have you tried draining off some back-pressure. That often is what the rapid flash means. Try pushing the hot water button then opening the steam valve. A few seconds after the pump comes on to push water out, the red light should go off. If it takes more than a few seconds, that's probably not the problem. hope this helps.

Can you descale a coffee machine with white vinegor ?

Yes. A 20% solution of white vinegar will descale any coffee maker. I prefer to run straight water for 1 cycle after this process to ensure no vinegar aftertaste remain. I've been using white vinegar to descale my coffee makers for years and it works great.

Our coffee espresso machine is leaking when we use the coffee maker.

The problem is that the heated water is leaking out of the drip chamber. This is caused by the fact that they were to cheap to use stainless steel screws that hold the chamber top to the bottom. The screws have rusted and the hot water can escape the drip area and runs down next to a plastic tube that delivers the hot water to the top of the coffee maker from the heating element. To repair you have to remove two screws that are on the underside of the hot water drip area above the coffee filter. Then there are 3 tabs that have to be released and separate the cover that has the from its base. When you pop off this cover, you will see the remains of 4 screws that are badly rusted. I used a small ez-out and drill to remove the remains. Be very careful to not drill the pilot hole through the top. I got lucky and was able to remove the screws and replaced them with stainless steel. An alternate method would be to use a food grade 100% silicon adhesive and glue the to back together. This method may leak in the future, so try to get the old screws out first.

I would recommend a MR coffee $30 to $50 models, on sale, for coffee before I would ever buy this European designed junk. I took this thing apart and just shook my head
