Question about Acer Aspire 5610-4648 Notebook
I'v purchased acer aspire 4730Z laptop, from the specification I came to know that the bluetooth is attached with and keyboard have one key marked bluetooth. at the time of utility installation it shows no bluetooth device and after installation if i press the key it shows "NO DEVICE DETECTED". I wanna know (i) wheather my laptop have bluetooth device which will help me to transfer my data from mobile to laptop via bluetooth or (ii) the key is for my easy use when i will attach a bluetooth device it will activate with a single key press............... pls help me by giving the information..
The 4730Z does NOT have bluetooth. Check the specs on it from acer's website. The reason for the buttons are that it share much hardware with the 4930 which does have bluetooth. You will need to add a bluetooth device if you want bluetooth.
Once again, the a4730 doesn't have bluetooth in it's stock form.

This has kind of been clarified already. But i just wanted to point out that even with the bluetooth control button on your laptop if there is no white sticker on the bottom that says bluetooth you computer doesn't have it. acer.com shows a picture of what the sticker will look like

I have the same laptop, and there is a button to turn bluetooth on and off but there is no internal bluetooth card pre-installed. If you buy a bluetooth dongle it will turn that on and off. The other option is to install a internal bluetooth card into the computer. I found mine on eBay for $36 and it took 30 minutes to install. Unfortunately you need to take the entire computer apart to get to the connection point and mount point for the card. As long as you are careful and ground yourself if is not too hard, just a little daunting with the thought of taking everything apart. I just wish they had made it as easy as upgrading memory or the wifi card.
Hope this helps.

I learned from acer that all the devices have the bluetooth button but that that doesn't mean that any particular acer notebook is bluetooth enabled. if yours is not the solution is easy. just buy a bluetooth usb dongle and you are set. i got mine for 2.99 with free shipping

Yes Bluetoot is inbuilt in your laptop.
Its just you are not using it properly.
First turn bluetooth "ON" on your mobile or handheld and swith on the discovery mode.
Then press the bluetooth key on your laptop. search for new devices and you'll find your mobile or handheld in the discovered list.
