Hi,

Sometimes there's a broken wire where the thin coilwire is attached to the solderingjoint at the bottom of the element. A real Shure problem.

Good luck,
Gerard

It will work either way, the phase will be reversed if connected wrong but you probably will notice that.

PG48 microphone not working no sound

Try a different cable, Make sure that noe of the wires to the element are not broke, take an ohm meter and read the element. It should click when you attach the leads of the meter. If it dosent the element has gone.

I have a Shure PG48 and I can't hear anything when I speak into it even though it sounds like it's turning on when I hit the 'on' switch

That's really hard to diagnose over email with this description. I suggest calling Shure Applications at 800-516-2525. They can help you troubleshoot and ask any questions that might help in determining the problem.

My relatively unused Shure PG 48 quit working.

You can just grab the cartridge and pull it out. The rubber bushing is just friction fit into the metal handle.

I'm trying to use my PG mic and connect it to my computer to record but I can't hear myself in the computer. The mic works if I connect it to a monitor. My audio is fine and my computer mics work fine on...

To connect a professional mic to a computer, you will need a USB interface such as the Shure X2u. Professional mics have too low of an output level to be connected directly to a computer.

Can you tell me how to remove the mic head off a shure ut2 beta 58a wireless and is it compatible with any other shure wireless thanks

The Beta 58A head simply unscrews from the handle (just below the grill). It will fit all Shure handheld transmitters.

I have a Shure PG48-QTR.

Here is a manual
http://www.shure.com/stellent/groups/public/@gms_gmi_web_ug/documents/web_resource/us_pro_pg_mics_en_ug.pdf

You need a special microphone cable and maybe an adapter if you have a 1/4 plug going into 1/8 inlet. These can be found at any music store.
