Hi, Try installing the driver in compatibility mode.
right click on the setup file --> properties --> goto compatibility tab --> click on the check box showing " Run this program in compatibility mode for" --> chose previos version of OS(xp, vista etc...) of ur desire ---> press ok
Use Add/Remove Programs to remove that '1.05' version.
Visit the ALESIS web-site, and click on "get support",
and tell them that the '1.05' version does not work with 64-bit Vista,
and ask them what they recommend.
If you are running XP or Vista, just plug the reader into the USB slot and the system will automatically load a driver. If it doesn't, put the CD that came with the reader in the CD drive and run the exe file and follow instructions. You may have to install the software first or plug in the reader first. Manufacturers vary on the order of install.
Start * Contol Panel * Performance and Maintenance * Administrative Tools * Services * Smart Card( check if its active and started manually) * If not click twice and start it ,then click ok. * Reboot your computer (I shut it down holding the main button in for a few sec) If thats ok, remove the cables from the motherboard. Boot the pc, shutdown, reconnect the cables & reboot.
Hi, unfortunately VISTA does not support a lot of devices that need drivers, XP had a fabulous driver base but Microsoft did not get the same up and running in VISTA, So go to the card manufactures web site and download the latest driver that is VISTA compatable.
A lot of the software for XP will not run in VISTA.
You could try using Media Portal as your 'TV grabber' you can check it out at http://www.team-mediaportal.com/. You're most likely not going to get the MSI software to work properly on Vista until they release a compatible version. If you still want to use that software you'll have to switch back to XP. MSI doesn't have a lot of motivation to upgrade their software to Vista compatibility because most of their users are still on XP.
