It is probably not permissions I think it would be the drivers need updating and you may have to talk to your techs to get this done if not I can give you a web site that may have the drivers

    If it is not the drivers I will probably be permissions but do a check on another computer from work and then see what happens If it is permissions you may have to talk to your work techs to OK it

    One other thing I can think of is the Security updates for Vista are different to the ones in XP as Vista is locked down more than XP That may be the problem and I would send a report to Microsoft to analyze the issue or the problem

    I may think of other solutions but that is the best one at the moment

Howdy, I'm Running vista 64 bit Home Premium. I downloaded the 1.05 version for vista from the alesis website. after installing it i get a "fstConnect.exe-Application Error. The Application failed to...

Use Add/Remove Programs to remove that '1.05' version.
Visit the ALESIS web-site, and click on "get support",
and tell them that the '1.05' version does not work with 64-bit Vista,
and ask them what they recommend.

I need to know how to install the software for my usb smart card reader

If you are running XP or Vista, just plug the reader into the USB slot and the system will automatically load a driver. If it doesn't, put the CD that came with the reader in the CD drive and run the exe file and follow instructions. You may have to install the software first or plug in the reader first. Manufacturers vary on the order of install.

Gemini card reader is not working

Start
* Contol Panel
* Performance and Maintenance
* Administrative Tools
* Services
* Smart Card( check if its active and started manually)
* If not click twice and start it ,then click ok.
* Reboot your computer (I shut it down holding the main button in for a few sec)
If thats ok, remove the cables from the motherboard. Boot the pc, shutdown, reconnect the cables & reboot.

delete the controller in the device manager and reboot your computer.

If that does not work, please add a little more information, ie. what the device manager shows when you open the properties for the controller.

Hi, unfortunately VISTA does not support a lot of devices that need drivers, XP had a fabulous driver base but Microsoft did not get the same up and running in VISTA, So go to the card manufactures web site and download the latest driver that is VISTA compatable. A lot of the software for XP will not run in VISTA. Regards mistyman

Help please

You could try using Media Portal as your 'TV grabber' you can check it out at http://www.team-mediaportal.com/. You're most likely not going to get the MSI software to work properly on Vista until they release a compatible version. If you still want to use that software you'll have to switch back to XP. MSI doesn't have a lot of motivation to upgrade their software to Vista compatibility because most of their users are still on XP.
