the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).

you can replace the cartridge if you want, but if you want to disable the ink level monitoring, you have to follow the on screen instruction from canon that will pop up on your screen, until you get the message "press stop/reset button for 5 seconds".

SOURCE: i've been using my scanner this am, now the

Kodak printer are designed in such a way that if you even don't print from them, everytime you on-off the printer the cleaning process goen on, which results in emtying the ink cartridges. Try installing new ink cartridges. if u still get the same ink error. Then the printer will be replaced.

Hi there! The Canon site has the drivers you are looking for.
I have copied the link below, you can also search for your Canon at http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/home
The drivers page for this model is currently: http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/support/consumer/printers_multifunction/pixma_mg_series/pixma_mg5220#DriversAndSoftware

The site should sense your OS version for ease of download. However you can manually choose it from the drop down. Please verify that your OS matches the "sensed" OS.

Canon mg5200 only prints photos

I have an MP540 and it says..."The PIXMA MP540 runs on five ink cartridges, with a photo black as well as a pigmented black for text printing" so it sounds like pigmented is for text and dye for pics. So maybe your default settings are showing high quality, photo or the paper type is causing the printer to select high quality...just a thought!

I have a Canon Pixma MP280 Printer with scanner. The scanner wont work. Help!!

In most cases the printer driver software can have errors while being in use or is shut down. So to reset remove your printer from the PC and uninstall the printer software. Now reinstall the printer software and then connect the Printer to be detected as a new hardware as it will be installed. Now check the printer properties to see the ink levels.
Activate head cleaning before a test is taken .Place the printed test sheet and take an aligment of the scanner from the desktop icon.Check and see if the scanner works. If not you will need to check for harware issues. Take consensus without tampering.

My printer window on the HP PSC 2175 continues to read: 'Press Enter to align cartridges' I have done this 5 or 6 times and the message will not go away. How do I fix this problem so it will print?

Perform the following steps to align the ink cartridges:
  1. Disconnect the power cord from the unit, wait five seconds, and then plug it back in. This will reinitialize the unit.
  2. Print another alignment test page. If the Press Enter to align message is not currently on the front panel display, complete the following steps to print an alignment page:
    1. Press Setup or Menu on the front panel (depending on the model).
    2. Press the right arrow button (>) until Maintenance or Tools is displayed, and then press Enter or OK (depending on the model).
    3. Press the right arrow button (>) until Align Print Cartridges is displayed, and then press Enter or OK (depending on the model).
  3. To determine if the automatic alignment is functioning correctly, look into the output tray as the alignment page is printing; a blue light should be visible periodically on the page as the cartridges move back and forth. If this light is not visible, the product will not be able to align the cartridges and will require service. Service the product.
  4. If the blue light is visible and the alignment pages are printing correctly, but the alignment pages still fails, there still may be a hardware problem with the unit.
    • If there are no other printing problems and you wish to continue, use the information in the Bypassing the ink cartridge alignment section below to bypass the alignment. The information from last successful alignment will be used.
    • If the message keeps reappearing or other print quality problems occur, service the product.
Models with a semi-automatic print cartridge alignment Some HP products have a semi-automatic alignment process. These models do not have an additional sensor and will print two pages for the alignment process instead of one. The alignment page must be placed on the scanner glass or into the automatic document feeder (HP Officejet V series) and scanned.
  1. Disconnect the power cord, wait five seconds, and then plug it in. This reinitializes the product and forces the scanner to calibrate again.
  2. Examine the scanner glass and white scan backing. Clean the scanner glass and scan backing if they are not clean. To clean the scanner glass and scan backing, use a soft cloth towel slightly dampened with clean water.
  3. With the product turned on, open the scanner cover and check the bulb assembly. If the scanner bulb is not lit, the product must be serviced.
  4. Verify that the alignment page is placed correctly on the scanner glass or in the ADF (if the product has one). Place the printed side down.
  5. 5. Make a copy of the alignment page. The unit will make a copy even if the alignment message is displayed. Compare the copy to the original. If vertical lines appear in the copy, check to see if the scanner assembly requires cleaning. If cleaning the scanner assembly does not correct the problem, service the product.
  6. 6. Use the information in the Bypassing the ink cartridge alignment section below to bypass the alignment. Operate the HP All-in-One to determine if there are other problems. The unit should be serviced if other error messages or problems occur or if alignment problems occur every time the ink cartridges are changed.
To bypass the ink cartridge alignment: Press and hold the Setup button, and then press Options (or Copy Options ).

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it and give a testimonial for my response

Thanks, Joe

I have installed a new ink cartridge but it still will not print saying it is out of ink

The low ink warning if you are using remanufactured cartridges.Even if you aren't, the OEM companies place a chip inside of each cartridge that counts the number of pages that you print. When the cartridges reach a certain number of pages, they automatically tell your printer that you are running low on ink. The warning can usually be bypassed by clicking the “Resume” or “OK” button, or by disabling your ink level indicator. Here is a link on how to bypass the warning on Canon cartridges that may help:

Printer for dell inspiron 1520 laptop running vista

Kodak has just come out with a fairly low cost printer/scanner combo that has low cost ink. The printer sells for $149 and ink tends to run about $15 per cartridge.
You can also get any number of low cost ink jets from HP.
There are re-manufactured HP cartridges that are low priced as well if you really need to keep costs down.
Also, check www.frys.com. They have a Canon printer/scanner on sale for $29.99, plus shipping. Almost worht tossing the printer when the ink goes out.
