SOURCE: cd rom message "no emulation" when booting the windows xp installer

Hi enshok, there can be a few reasons why you received this error. 1 you are using a copied windows CD. 2 the CD-ROM drive is not functioning correctly. 3 (And this is more likely over a copied Win CD). It's you're hard drive. It's not bad but it does need attention & not from windows. Please go to the manufactures web site for you're drive. Seagate, Maxtor, western digital, ECT. Download their tools/utilities to a floppy diskette. Boot the system with the floppy. Test the drive with the tools. Setup the drive with the floppy software. Read the instructions for the software. Do not allow windows to set you're drive up. When finished you shouldn't have any more troubles installing windows pro & no emulation error.

Good Luck!
Have any more troubles, just post here.

Everytime i open the computer it reads the feature you are trying to use is on a cd rom or removable disk insert the aiosotwarenpidisk

"AIOsoftwareNPI" is included on the CD that came with your HP All In One printer. Place the HP All In One disk into the optical drive (CD / DVD ROM drive) and restart the computer. "AIOsoftwareNPI" will automatically be installed after boot.

If unable to locate the ****, go to HP's website to download the disk for your particular All In One printer.

I hope this helps. Please rate my reply - thanks!

Did you create a drive image prior to the install ?

If so go back and run the Games from Windows 7 in XP Compatibility mode.

If not use Symantec Partition Magic to create two partitions and operate a dual boot system where you use Windows 7 for most things like the internet and Windows XP for games I also suggest that you use GameXP to optimize XP for Gaming

You can try this:
I am assuming you have a PC based sound system.

1. Remove your Creative Labs Home Theater from your PC. You should remove all hardware.
2. If you have Windows, go to "Control Panel"
3. Select "Add or Remove Programs"
4. Delete all Software releted to your Creative Labs System
5. Go to http://www.creative.com/language.asp?sDestUrl=/support/downloads
6. Download the appropriate driver for your system
7. Reinstall the system with the new driver

You could try your CD ROM after completely deleting the software from your PC, but I think I'd just try the downloaded version. The important thing is to completely remove all hardware and software before reinstalling.

Dell l400 problem

1.If you purchase an external USB CD drive you will not need to use your floppy discs for booting. 2. You can connect a USB CD drive to your system. 3. Your system will recognize any device plugged into your USB drive. 4. There is no CD drive available for internal installation in your computer. 5. With the USB CD drive plugged in and the windows installation disc inserted, your computer should take you through the setup program automatically.

Sounds like system and registry files may be damaged. Firstly if you have not got a windows xp cd go to double click My computer>tools>folder options>view and uncheck 'hide protected operating system files'. This will allow windows to see the system cache, but even this may be corrupt and you will require a copy of Windows XP for the required files. Now run this programme, go to Start>run then type sfc /scannow (there is a space after sfc and the forward slash). Press enter and it may require a restart to run file checker. If the files in the cache folder are corrupt it will ask for the cd.
