I suggest scan from MS Paint first - if this works proceed to step 1, if not, proceed to step2.
Step1, check device manager - update driver.
Step2, check if there are other scanner installed or software installed under C:Windows/twain_32 folder. Delete any files there except for wiatwain.ds and folders that has "e" at the beggining. Re launched Epson Scan. If it fails check step3.
Step3, trash and reinstall driver, you can download the driver for this on the epson site,
www.epson.com, select your regio of course, go to drivers and support, select your product and select the appropriate system that your using.
Step4, Optional step, on the properties of Epson Scan (you'll see this if you right click Epson Scan icon), make sure that the compatibility corresponds to your system, you'll see a check box there that says "Run with..."
If this steps fails, perform registry adjustment by removing Epson Scan software under the HKEY_CURRENT USER and HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, reinstall software again.
