Reset button location

To perform a hard router reset, keep the router powered on. Then, find the unit's reset button, often located on the rear of the device. Use a pen tip or bent paperclip if necessary to depress the button and hold it down. Network administrators are taught to hold the button down for 30 seconds; your router probably does not require waiting that full length of time, but this is a good general rule to follow. After releasing the hard reset button, a router may need up to 1 minute to reboot and resume normal operation.
An alternative method for hard resets involves holding the reset button down for 90 seconds instead of 30, unplugging the router from power and then re-plugging it partway through as described in these instructions for the 30-30-30 hard reset rule. This more involved reset process may not work on some routers and should only be tried if the basic 30 second version does not work.
To avoid Internet connectivity complications, disconnect the broadband modem from the router before performing hard resets.

Wireless is not working

Hi..
Based on the information you have provided, it seems that the issue might be due to the Wireless Network Driver or the settings.
However, please try performing the steps which I have mentioned below:
1) Verify the physical wireless switch is turned on. Refer to the user's manual for instructions 2) Reinstall the original wireless adapter driver. Uninstall the driver from device manager. 3) You may download the Wireless Network Driver from the manufacturer website. 4) If possible test, another computer on the wireless network. 5) If another computer is unsuccessful, contact the wireless router manufacturer or ISP to verify they are working properly. 6) Boot the computer into safe mode and test the wireless connection in the Internet Explorer browser. 7) If the connection works in safe mode, the issue is likely caused by anti-virus or anti-spyware software. Configure the software properly per the manufacturer's instructions. 8) Check the WAN IP address of the router as per the manufacturer's instructions. 9) If the router is not getting a WAN IP address, the issue is likely caused by a problem with ISP. 10) Reset the router and/or modem per the manufacturer's instructions. 11) If available, install a firmware update for the router and/or modem. Check the manufacturer's Web site for updates and instructions. 12) Check to determine if wireless interference is causing the issue. 13) Try adjusting settings on the WLAN router, such as the wireless channel frequency or cloning the MAC address.
Please try performing all the above mentioned steps. Performing the above steps should resolve the issue.
Hope this helps.
Please feel free to contact for further information and assistance.

Cable modem internet works when directly plugged into desktop, but when run through the router, no connectivity

Most cable Internet Service Providers (ISP) use a Media Access Control (MAC) Authentication to establish Internet connections for end-users. A MAC address is a unique 48-bit (6-byte) integer that is attached to an Ethernet NIC for each computer. To set-up your Linksys router to a Cable ISP, you have to do MAC Cloning. MAC Cloning is a procedure which enables a router to copy the MAC address of the PC that's registered with the ISP.
To setup a Linksys router with Cable connection you need to perform five steps:
  1. Verifying Internet Connection
  2. Connecting the Devices Together
  3. Checking the Router's LEDs
  4. Configuring a Linksys Router for a Cable Connection
  5. Power Cycling
NOTE: Before proceeding, use the computer that can go online when connected to the modem and follow the steps below.
Verifying Internet Connection
Connect the Broadband modem to the computer using an Ethernet cable without the router installed and make sure that the Internet connection is active. If it is not, contact your ISP. If it can go online, the PC connected to the modem is the one that's registered with the ISP.

Once an active Internet connection is established through the modem, connect the modem and the computer to the router by following the instructions below.
Connecting the Devices Together
After ensuring that you have an active Internet connection, connect the modem to the router's Internet port and the computer to any of the four Ethernet ports. For instructions, click here.
After connecting the devices, check the LEDs by following the instructions below.
Checking the Router's LEDs
The Linksys router's front panel will indicate the status of the connection. After connecting the broadband modem to the WAN or Internet port, the computer to an available numbered port and powering on the router check the lights on the front panel of the router. For instructions, click here.
After checking the router's LEDs, configure the router for cable Internet. For instructions, follow the steps below.

I have reset my tw100-s4w1ca trendnet router, but still default username and password dont match

There are two kinds of resets in a router. Soft reset(reset the connection) and hard reset(reset all the settings). I think what you have performed is a soft reset. To perform a hard reset press and hold the reset button for 10 seconds. Please be aware that if you perform a hard reset you will have to re-configure your router before you connect to the internet, so make sure you have the settings handy. The default username and password is usually admin or Admin.

Let me know if you need further assistance configuring the router.
Sai.

perform a reset on the unit by following the instructions at
http://technicallyeasy.net/2008/01/how-to-reset-linksys-wrt54g-wireless/

Please note that this is a factory reset so you will lose ALL settings.

I suggest you perform a backup from the web administration page to save all settings you've created such as port forwarding rules etc
