Battery not charging

Is it a replacement battery ,you purchased, with the EXACT same specs? Some aftermarket inexpensive batteries do not work well with your laptop. How do you know it's not charging, by the Icon in the Tray Notification Area? Again sometimes aftermarket batteries don't have the ability to communicate with the software. The pin-outs are not the same.

My battery life has shortened and I cannot connect to wireless internet using windows xp, how can i fix this?

If the laptop battery is more than 3 - 4 years old then the battery could be worn out. Rechargeable batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cycles and will lose their charge capacity over time, i.e. won't charge to 100% and gradually the charge reduces until the battery won't charge up at all. OR The battery shows a 100% charge but when the adapter is disconnected the battery drops off to zero capacity in a very short time. If the battery drops to an unacceptable charge level then the battery needs to be replaced. Rechargeable batteries will fail if stored in a discharged state for long periods.

Wont work on battery power, turns off when unplugged

Have you tried Charging with other charger?
In your case it sounds like your Battery is allmost dead. So I'll suggest you to Visit HP site and download Battery testing Software.
With that software you can how if your battery is ok or not. If the software shows you that you need to replace battery then there is no option rather then listening to the software.

When charging my battery it will reach 95% and the battery charging light will turn solid red and battery meter will show plugin not charging.

Likely that the battery is either not fully working due to reaching the end of its useful life, or the charging light is not accurate and you have a fully charged battery.

You can download this free software to give you a more accurate idea:

You might also like to try "educating" your battery. This is done simply by running it flat, recharging fully and running flat again, do this a few times and if the battery s good, you should get it to see 100% charge

2nd attempt----my a930 cell phone continues to discharge prematurally. Can get only a 2-4 hour charge. Batteries have been replaced. Do I need a software update ??

1. What type of battery do you have is it a Lithium Ion or Ni Cad battery, Ni Cad batteries need to be completely discharged and then charged back up again, if its a Lithium Ion, your battery has memory cells in it, where it technically doesn't matter when you do it...but
2. Charging habbits - How are you charging your phone, you should charge the phone when you first get it for a good 8-10 hours, the first charge is the most important, after that depending on what type of battery you have (see above) let it die and then charge it up for about 8 hours again, do this for about a week you should start to see significant difference.

Also are you using a car charger or a wall charger, car chargers are NOT the best way to charge your phone, they used to get the job done, but not a perminate solution

Will not charge

Are you using the AC Adapter, or USB sync cable to computer to charge? If using your computer to charge, you will need to have USB Driver for your BlackBerry Model installed. Download and install the latest version of BlackBerry Desktop Manager software from:

Could also be that your USB Port on your BB is damaged. You can use an external Battery Charger to charge your Battery

Battery Charge - First Use

My experience was similar to yours. The LED turned green after about only 2 hours. Because I didn't want to stay up until midnight to start playing with my Axim, I took it out of the cradle after the 2 hours and everything was fine. Besides, having downloaded and read the user's guide 2 days before receving my Axim, I knew that a green LED meant it was ready to go. 3 days later, everything is still fine and seems normal. A year ago, I received a Palm with similar initial charging requirements, and it also didn't take as long as the directions said it would.
