Question about Samsung SCX 4200 All-In-One Laser Printer
Hi we have a Ricoh Aficio FX16 with a message error:
open heat error. Cannot print anything anymore!
I read on internet that it's related with the fuser. But do you have more detail how to fix and do you have the parts?
The Open Heat error indicates that the sensing circuitry for the fuser has detected that the fuser is not heating up. This can occur because either the sensing circuitry isn't detecting correctly or the fuser actually isn't heating up. Probably the latter in most cases.
How to fixya? Probably install a new fuser and you'll be fixed. Want to be sure before you spend $$ ?? Pull the fuser out. You will see a wiring hookup with two heavy wires that supply 110V to the heating lapm. Connect an ohm meter across the two wires that are on the FUSER. A good fuser will read around (0) ohms - complete circuit. A fuser with a bad lamp or a bad thermostat will read infinite resistance (open circuit).
The thermostat is probably available as a separate item. It's probably about $15 from several online sources. I believe you will need a JC47-00013A. I could be wrong. You'll need to do some research if you find that to be the problem.
