SOURCE: 1990 polaris trailboss , trans ,or clutch slips in water

Check for wore clutch belt and also check to see if your getting water in the clutch housing. If your getting water in the housing, your clutches could be corroded as well. There should be no water getting in that shroud.

SOURCE: oil change for polaris 325

Drain plug is on the bottom of the crankcase. No need to pull skid plate. Combo fill hole and dipstick is on the lower left hand side of the engine
Don't forget to do the filter at hte same time.

SOURCE: have 2001 polaris sportsman 4x4

sounds like your clutch is stuck and wont open up to let belt drop in between pulleys. check both the drive clutch and the driven clutch fo no binding or for smooth operation. that would keep the wheeler in a low gear position

2007 polaris ranger 500 efi 4x4 looses all power before key switch

Check the main fuse to the ignition switch. It will either come directly from the battery + terminal or pick up from the "hot" meaning "positive" side of the starter motor relay. If it comes from the relay you will locate it by following the main "positive" lead from the battery. From the relay you can then trace it to the main fuses. Hope this helps you out.

1999 Sportsman 335 4x4. Why doesn't it seem "right"?

Make sure it is the recommended size. Can you adjust the tension? Try some belt dressing, it's a spray that makes belts grab better. Good luck!

Serpentine belt slipped off while driving ranger in very slushy snow driving conditions. do I need new belt or tensioner

probably both. first check all the pulleys and tensioner. one of them is the cause for the belt to come off. Make sure they are all tight and no wabble.

2004 sportsman 400 4x4 shifts late and hard going into high end

polaris drives are variable speed. they only have 2 ranges plus reverse. it sounds like either the driven clutch is slipping or the trans is slipping. the gear cogs inside may not be locking in properly and the shifter rods may need adjustment.
