when I press the type of cycle the lights don't come on, and when I press start the lights also don't come on...

Mark, Thanks for taking the time to help out...I also thought of that, and reset the circuit breakers that go to the dishwasher...we've had the unit for about 2 years, and about a year ago, we noticed that the lights (LED'S) wouldn't always come on, but the washer worked. About a week ago when we tried to use it, the same thing happened...I consulted the manual and it mentioned about 'unlocking' the I tried and after pressing the 'heated/dry' button the lights came on and the unit started up. It's been working fine every day until tonight.

I looked inside the unit and here is the info: JDB1250-AWP. Made in Newton, Iowa. Looks like serial # E 39927 LR 111720.

The manual that came with it lists the model as JDB-5...but it's the pro- model with the pro handle to match our Jenn-air refrigerator.

that bad connection should be covered by the Jenn-air warranty, right?

  • Mark Egan May 11, 2010

Sounds like power has been removed from the unit. Have you check the breakers or fuse?

Please describe the symptoms of "won't start".

I am going to say it sounds like either bad connections on the controller circuit board, or a failing controller.

I can't find you model on the JennAir site not on SearsPartsDirect, so can't help you much further. If you want to confirm your model number, then I'll look deeper.

Found a manual. I am thinking your going to find a bad connection/connector at the board, or the door close switch.

If there is not a bad connection, then it's probably a failed board (could be a bad solder joint.).

If you've got warranty, then I would expect it covers any part of the failure, although I don't know what the details of JennAir's warranty is/are.

I've never heard of a warranty over a year though, and you indicate this unit is over 2 years old.

I have a Jenn Air dishwasher and the door latch mechanism has been "locked" but teh door is in the open position, how do I unlock the mechanism. I have pushed the het button three seconds but this me

This happened to me. After replacing the board for $100, still happened. I messed with it myself... Reach under the counter to where the "catch" is. Mine is white plastic. Mine had a bit of movement side to side (like 3mm). Try sliding it to one side or the other and see if the door will shut. I spent $100 I did not need to spend and hand washed dishes for 6 days waiting for the part! Good luck

Leaking at the bottom of the door and unsure where plastic door seal goes.

This dishwasher will leak if there is to much water in the unit.
I have the same dishwasher with a different problem.
Mine won't circulate the water. I have not use it for a while and some water will back feed from the sink and fill the dishwasher, so if I don't check for that problem once in a while I see it start to leak.
It never has done that when the unit was working....

Unfortunately this seems to be a problem with several of the jenn air models. I have replaced quite a few and have also talked to thier tech line for servicers and they don't have anything else to offer other than replacing the control board. Each time I ran across one I found no other problems and I tested everything. If you replace 3 times you can usually get them to give you a new one.

Jenn air jdb8910 does nothing

Had a similar problem with mine a few weeks ago. It was intermittent in not working on delay. My first thought was that the close switch was not working. Upon disassembling the door, and fiddling with the switch, I heard some sizzling on one of the circuit boards. A little more digging revealed some cold solder joints on a couple of board mounted relays.

I removed the board, re-soldered the loose relays, and everything has worked fine since.
